After getting cancelled in 2020 due to the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic, NCAA’s 2021 March Madness is now all set to enthrall the basketball fans. The highly-anticipated event will prove to be the single-greatest post-season event in organized sports. Since we are still in the middle of a pandemic, the games will adhere to strict Covid protocols.

According to USA Today, all attendees will be required to wear face coverings and observe social distancing. According to an official release, cleaning, disinfection and safety measures will be a priority at all events. What is NCAA March Madness?

The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association Division) tournament, also known and branded as NCAA March Madness, is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States. It currently features 68 college basketball teams from the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. It first started in 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and it gradually got popular as one of the most famous annual sporting events in the United States.

When is it happening?

NCAA March Madness 2021 will kickstart from March 14 and will culminate on April 5. 

What’s the schedule?

NCAA March Madness starts with the Selection Day followed by First Four and it then jumps to Rounds 1 and 2, Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four. In the end, we will get to see the National Championship Game. Here’s how the schedule for this year looks like as revealed by the official website:

Where is it happening?

All the games of NCAA 2021 March Madness will be held in the state of Indiana. Also, to minimize travel and keep a consistent protocol in place for COVID-19 testing, the majority of the games will take place in the greater Indianapolis area. According to the official website, games will be played on two courts inside Lucas Oil Stadium, as well as Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Mackey Arena in West Lafayette and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. It is also revealed that only one game will be played at a time at Lucas Oil Stadium.

How to live stream?

NCAA March Madness 2021 will be up for viewing from Selection Sunday. It is the day on which the teams are unveiled. The hour-long event will begin at 6 p.m. ET on CBS. Speaking of the main games, the broadcaster will remain the same. Viewers can also tune into Turner Sports stations  TBS, TNT and truTV) in order to catch all the action. Also, CBS has also acquired the broadcast rights for both the Final Four and the national title game. The finale will be up for viewing at 9 pm ET on CBS. Fans can also catch the much-awaited event on streaming platforms such as Paramount+ and fuboTV.
