Spoilers for '1883' Episode 2 'Behind Us, a Cliff'

'1883' just had its much-anticipated debut and the prequel to the electric 'Yellowstone' series is packing in the nitty-gritty right from the beginning. The show brought to audiences by Taylor Sheridan will take us on a very wild journey through the Great Plain from Texas to Montana.

The first episode saw James Dutton (Tim McGraw) and his family arrive in Fortworth, Texas and decide to travel the journey along with Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott) and the rest of the European immigrants. But the road is going to be filled with peril and non of them truly know what lies in store for them. All James has is his family and dream for a better tomorrow and plans on traveling till he finds a land that is promising. The second episode saw some new exciting cast appearances, so read on to know who made a cameo in the '1883' premiere and when.

The start of Episode 2 of the series sees John wake up in a field of dead bodies after fighting in the war. That's when the renowned actor Tom Hanks makes a cameo in the role of an unnamed Union Army General. Speaking a simple line saying, "I know, I know..", to a clearly traumatized and exhausted James the 'Greyhound' actor is included as an exciting little special appearance in the '1883' premier.

Another rather exciting appearance was made by the iconic Billy Bob Thorton who plays the role of Marshal Jim Courtright, a real 19th century US marshal. The latter episode of the premiere saw James along with Brea, Josef (Marc Rissman) and Thomas (LaMonica Garrett) go to the station to get justice after some unruly cowboys killed some travelers and their friends' daughter. All four of them head to the bar where Josef points out the culprits. In a very fashionable cool manner, Courtright draws his gun and shoots dead the perpetrators of the attack. In a cold-blooded manner, justice is delivered by the Marshal who says, "There's only one killer in Fortsworth and that's me", walking away after getting the job done.

Tom Hand and Billy Bob Thorton, who were confirmed to make special appearances in the 'Yellowstone' prequel, made their debut in the second episode of '1883' and fans of the living legends can tune in to watch their favorites don an exciting, new appearance.

You can stream '1883' on Paramount+.
