Earlier, a 911 dispatcher said that a juvenile male was possibly trapped in the fire that started before 5.30 am. So far, the cause of death has not been released, WPXI reported. A report in TRIBLIVE which confirmed the age of the victim mentioned that no official has revealed the identity of the victim publically as yet. The report mentioned that three dogs were also killed in the raging fire, the police said.
Normalville Fire Chief Mark Bigam who was first to confirm to the outlet about the age of the victim and that one adult survivor had managed to escape further said, "The biggest problem in fighting the fire was that the mobile home was on a hillside above the road, and the driveway to the home was very icy." The fire as per the report had fully engulfed the house when the firefighters arrived and continued to remain on the scene for five hours.
Officials further said that a state police fire marshal unit is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. Trooper Kalee Barnhart said, "Normalville firefighters were assisted at the scene by fire departments from Bullskin, Connellsville, Springfield, and Saltlick townships and Ohiopyle", as per the report.
