LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 3 aired on June 30, 2024, on HBO, and the gripping episode saw a desperate attempt by Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) to avoid war. After the exciting episode though, all attempts seemed to have failed and it is going to be an all-out war in the next episode of the fan-favorite action-adventure series.

Fans are waiting eagerly for the next episode to drop and HBO Max wanted to tease the fans further by releasing a fascinating preview of the fourth episode that has left the fans even more restless about what is going to happen in the coming episode.

For fans who have followed the series intricately and also read 'Fire & Blood', the preview offers certain clues about what the fourth episode will bring. Here is a look at a few events the preview teased.

Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) learns the truth about Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) being mistakenly named King by Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) and that seems to have brought a change in her behavior.

She always believed her son Aegon was the prince that was promised but as Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) told her, Viserys was talking about Aegon the Conqueror.

In the preview, she seems to be nonchalantly disrespectful toward the King losing all fear and almost resigned to the fate of her sons and the Seven Kingdoms as the war looms.

Criston Cole gets his redemption

Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel) had a rough time in the first two episodes of the series and the third episode almost saw him being a victim to Baela Targaryen (Bethany Antonia) and her dragon Moondancer.

The fourth episode may bring some redemption for the Hand of the King. In the book, 'Fire and Blood', Criston will get the Greens their first victory at the Battle of Rook's Rest.

Aegon and Sunfyre join the battle

Aegon was about to join Criston Cole in battle in the third episode but was convinced not to do so by Larys Strong (Matthew Needham). In the preview though, we see Sunfyre flying out hinting that Aegon did decide to fight with Criston Cole.

At the Battle at Rook's Rest, in the book, Aegon and Sunfyre get brutally injured in the battle with far-reaching consequences in the story. Aegon gets incapacitated and Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) takes up the reins.

What seems to be the execution of Daemon's plan, we see armies marching towards King's Landing. In the third episode, we saw Daemon take Harrenhall with relative ease.

He promised to get the armies together and march towards King's Landing. The plan seems to be coming into effect now as we see an army of soldiers marching towards the Iron Throne.

Vhagar is here

One of the final frames of the preview is the biggest dragon in the Seven Kingdoms, Vhagar towering over an entire army by his sheer size. A part of the Greens' strategy was to keep Vhagar in King's Landing to avoid any attacks.

As the Black army marches into King's Landing, the strategy seems to have paid dividends and Vhagar is ready to burn them into shreds with Aemond being the dragonrider.
