'Black queens are not your second choice': Shawn Wells slammed after switcheroo on 'Too Hot To Handle' Season 4

PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS, AND CAICOS ISLANDS: Shawn Wells, along with Imogen Ewan, is one of two sizzling new singles debuting in the second part of 'Too Hot to Handle' Season 4. Even though his pals label him as a "joker", fans didn't laugh when he kept referring to himself as "chocolate" or addressed his co-stars as "black queens".

In episode 7, the cast of 'Too Hot To Handle' Season 4 welcomed two newcomers. Imogen Ewan and Shawn Wells were introduced in the episode as two shocking revelations. Shawn stated on 'Too Hot To Handle' that he is "over six feet tall" and 225 lbs "of pure muscle." He further said that he "puts the 'dirty' in Dirty South..." Shawn claimed that he can be found online if you search for "sexy black man" and said, "You'll see me, right there."

Shawn, like the previous newcomers, got to choose someone to date in his debut episode, and he chose Kayla, much to Seb's dismay. When he landed in paradise, he was ready to go for what he desired. When he arrived, he selected Kayla Richart and sent shockwaves through the villa as Kayla is committed to Seb Melrose. However, it is Jawahir who subsequently piques Shawn's attention.

Fans quickly took to social media to call out Shawn, with one writing, "Shawn saying “I love my Black queens” and referring to himself as chocolate?? Mmmm this man does not date Black women.." Slamming Shawn for using Jawahir as his "backup", a fan tweeted, "So Shawn sees that Kayla clearly has chosen to remain with Seb then he immediately diverts to “I love my black queens” for his backup plan, like NAH stay over there. The same old tactic they always pull whenever their preferences aren’t choosing them."

Further calling him "corny", a fan wrote, "Shawn is so unbelievably corny my god. any black man who says “i love my beautiful black queens” on tv does not date black women irl."

Calling Shawn's way to woo Kayla "embarrassing", a fan wrote, "“So…how long you’ve been liking chocolate?” So Shawn KNOWS he’s a fetish to Kayla…and doesn’t care. Whew, this is embarrassing."

Labeling Shawn's personality as "unattractive', a fan wrote, "So Shawn is literally the “can I get a hug” “Queen” guy… NOPE NOPE NOPE. Why do men think this s**t is attractive? Nick, come get your girl." One fan also tweeted, "It’s so nasty when a dark skin man or dark skin woman compares themselves to food, specifically chocolate as a way to flirt….like you are literally using their fetishization of your complexion as a way to make yourself more attractive to them .(talkin bout shawn)."

Further slamming him for going after Jawahir only after getting turned down by Kayla, a fan wrote, "Shawn,you like your beautiful black queen but you didn’t pick your beautiful black queen for a date. Black queens are not your second choice !!" One fan, describing Shawn as a "player", wrote, "Shawn is player and he knows that Jawa is emotional damage and he taken advantage of it."
