LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 5 premiered on June 25, 2024 on Disney+. The episode saw a brutal war between the masked Sith lord and the Jedis resulting in the death of some fan-favorite characters.

Episode 4 ended with the Jedi coming face to face with a yet-to-be-revealed masked figure who had killed Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) as Mae (Amandla Stenberg) questioned her purpose of killing the Jedi. Episode 5 begins with high-octane action as lightsabers go up against each other with the Jedi trying to counter a much stronger masked figure.

Who is the masked figure? Do Mae and Osha survive? What happens to Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae)? Find out in our explanation at the end of 'The Acolyte' Episode 5.

As Jecki Lon (Dafne Keen) goes to attack the masked master, she knocks off his helmet but gets killed in the process. The masked man is revealed to be Qimir (Manny Jacinto).

Qimir calls himself a Sith and tells Master Sol that he wants freedom and the ability to practice his power without following the Jedi rules. He questions the loyalty of Mae and dismisses her for not being as good as Jecki was.

He gets attacked by Yord Fandar (Charlie Barnett) who also perishes at the hands of Qimir. Osha finally develops a plan as she puts the pip on Qimir attracting Umbermoths.

As Osha and Master Sol breathe a sigh of relief, Mae attacks Master Sol incapacitating him.

'The Acolyte' Episode 3 is likely to shed light on the backstory of Mae and Osha (@lucasfilm)

Mae hugs Osha and asks Osha to come with her as they go away from the Jedi but Osha calls Jedi her family more than Mae and proceeds to arrest her. Mae doesn't hesitate to use force against Osha as she kills Osha.

Before she kills Osha, she talks about Master Sol having kept secrets from her. Qimir too had mentioned this and we might see what that is referring to in the coming episodes. Mae uses her lightsaber to cut her hair and look like Osha

Meanwhile, Qimir is able to fight off the umber-moths and survive as Bazil (Hassan Taj) sees him survive and takes the pip with him.

Mae assumes Osha's identity and joins Master Sol

As Master Sol wakes up, Mae wears Osha's clothes and changes her walk and body language to convince Master Sol that she is Osha and Mae is now gone. Master Sol and Mae go back together and Mae has evil intentions in her mind. As most of the Jedi are already dead, Mae could have killed Master Sol but she decides to enter deep into the Jedi perhaps with a deeper plan in mind

The only hope for Master Sol is Bazil who also comes with them. As Qimir is also still alive, he will be coming for the Jedi as he wants his freedom in a Jedi-free world.

Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of 'The Acolyte' are streaming on Disney+.
