Who is Tengku Ismail Leon Petra? Former Malaysian king's beauty queen ex-wife shares pic of son amid paternity row
The beauty queen ex-wife of the former King of Malaysia has shared a picture of her son amid the couple's tumultuous divorce battle and paternity fight. Russian beauty queen Oksana Voevodina, 28, took to her Instagram account to share a picture of her baby son, Leo, as her nasty divorce battle with Malaysian Sultan Muhammad V goes on. Oksana had married Sultan in 2018 though the pair decided to get a divorce just a year later.
She shared that the picture was part of her plan to "start differently". She had given birth to her son Leo, whose full name is Tengku Ismail Leon Petra in May 2019 but it is reported that she was not permitted to share any pictures of him online by the royal family.
However, it seems like she has chosen to do as she pleases and has shared a photograph of him online. She addressed her 500,000 plus followers and said, "This year I decided to start differently and change the position of expectation to action." In the picture, Oksana is seen sporting a buttercup-colored cutaway dress while holding onto her toddler. Leo is seen in a pair of grey tweed trousers and a blazer. She had captioned the image, "We all want our wishes to be fulfilled. By themselves or with someone's help."
"This year I decided to start differently and change the position of expectation to action. So, my dears, the first thing I did was fulfill your wish-Leon appeared in the profile again," she added.
Her former husband who is the ex-King of Malaysia has not yet formally recognized the child as his own and does not acknowledge that he is the child's father. A Singaporean lawyer Koh Tien Hua, spoke on the behalf of Sultan to the Straits Times and said, "There is no objective evidence as yet as to the biological father of the child. On behalf of His Royal Highness, we request his privacy be respected."
We had earlier reported that Oksana insists that her baby is the former king's sole male heir. She also shared a message which is believed to be aimed at Sultan Muhammad. She wrote, "I know that everyone really wants to know what happened to us. Before, I was not ready to reveal my story. Maybe, if I tell you the truth, I will feel better... but I just don't want to hurt anyone." Voevodina further added that it "will be painful".
As a result of the romance, Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V abdicated the throne. The former King, who used Sharia law to divorce her, had married the Russian model in a secret Islamic ceremony which had taken place in Malaysia in 2018.
Voevodina and Kelantan have been embroiled in a public spat since then, with neither holding back against the other. The former has now come out to claim that the king "did not pay a dime" towards the cost of "his son". Voevodina also claimed that she was so desperate for money to cover medical expenses, that she sold her precious Jacob Arabo ring for $248,000, which is three times lesser than its market value.
