TYLER, TEXAS: A Catholic bishop has blasted Hillary Clinton after she criticized the US for its anti-abortion stand and compared the nation to Afghanistan and Sudan following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Joseph E Strickland reportedly did not like the former first lady’s remarks as he took to Twitter to call her out.

Strickland wrote, “Please, please don’t listen to this evil woman. Her lies and immorality need to be silenced for the good of humanity.” His words were said to be in sync with the Catechism of the Catholic Church that says, “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.”

The condemnation from the bishop came on Friday, December 2, a day after Clinton sat for an interview with PBS’s ‘Amanpour and Company’. She reportedly said, “We are also in a period of time where there is a lot of pushback and much of the progress that has been, I think, taken for granted by too many people is under attack. Literally under attack in places like Iran or Afghanistan or Ukraine where rape is a tactic of war, or under attacks by political and cultural forces in a country like our own when it comes to women’s health care and bodily autonomy.”

The 75-year-old also added that “we’ll see what happens in states like Arkansas and so many others when we face real world problems. As we have seen already where women with miscarriages go in for medical care and are turned away. When maybe, God forbid, a woman dies because that health care is denied her.”

Meanwhile, Strickland’s frustration towards Clinton has attracted a lot of comments online as a supporter of him wrote, “I say let her speak. Her words will convict her. What she says  will shine a light on the lies and just how horrible a person she is….. if you let her speak history will know her for who she really is…”

Another supporter said, “Courage and obligation together. God Bless You Bishop Strickland, for speaking the truth when it matters most. And it’s time for all ‘Catholic’ politicians who are pro-abortion to be denied the Eucharist.” “Thank you, @Bishopoftyler . You remain on the front lines battling for morality and righteousness.  Keep up the Good fight, we are praying for you and your continued fortitude,” a user tweeted.

The second one commented, “I left the Democratic Party in 1991 when Billy Boy was  campaigning for the Presidency. Hillary was a figure of Evil then. For some, it will not change! Blessings Bp. Strickland; Jesus always be with you Sir!” A tweet added, “Thank you, Bp. Strickland, for speaking on behalf of the unborn. Do not let your detractors get to you. They know they've lost the battle and they're desperate to stay in power.”
