'He just showed up!': Johnny Depp poses with lucky fans in neighborhood where he grew up

The 59-year-old actor reportedly went to Owensboro in Kentucky to meet his dad and other family members over the weekend

OWENSBORO, KENTUCKY: Johnny Depp reportedly decided to spend his weekend in his hometown of Owensboro in Kentucky amid reports claiming he will be returning to the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ franchise. It has been said that the 59-year-old actor reportedly went to Owensboro to meet his family members and also interacted with fans, posing for snaps.

As per reports, relatives of Depp, who was born and brought up in Owensboro, still live there. The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star also struck some candid poses with fans who spotted him but apparently asked them to hide it “until he left,” Fox19Now reported. Later, his pics surrounded by his fans appeared on social media.

A Facebook user named Abby Keelin posted the photos and wrote, “We have lived on our street for over 4 years and have always heard about Johnny Depp growing up here. However, we have never seen him so I have always wondered if it was even true. Last night my kids were hanging out down the street at a friends house and Johnny Depp showed up!!”

“He was kind enough to walk across the street and get a picture made with all the kids and neighbors. His dad and his aunt and uncle all have a house on our street and he was here visiting.  He was very kind but Job pointed out to me that he doesn’t look like the guy off Edward Scissorhands that we watched last week! PS….He isn’t in the neighborhood anymore,” Keelin added.

Twitter also has photos of Depp with locals as a person said, “That’s awesome..  Johnny went back to his hometown to see his Dad and family! ❤️” Another person tweeted, “Wow, that's amazing his absolutely gorgeous 💙🖤💙 @ Kentucky!!!” “Aw I love this ❤️ he’s always said that he’s never forgotten where he comes from and how lucky he has been.And he has a fedora on lol 😍,” the third one added.

The ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ actor’s quick stop at Owensboro came after an insider claimed that Depp will return to work with Disney. The source reportedly said, “Disney are very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”

“I know corporate sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter, but I’m unsure how it was received. But what I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow — so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character,” the source added.

Disney had broken ties with Depp after his former wife Amber Heard wrote a piece for Washington Post, claiming herself to be a domestic violence survivor. Though the actress had not named him in the op-ed, his legal team accused Heard of defamation, which also led to the infamous 2022 trial at a Virginia court.
