'Dark Matter' Ending Explained: What happens to Jason 1, Amanda and Ryan?

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: 'Dark Matter' on Apple TV+ finally reaches a heartwarming conclusion. The finale episode titled 'Entanglement' aired on June 26, 2024, offering an end to Jason Dessen's (played by Joel Edgerton) struggle to reunite with his family.
Jason 1A, Daniela (Jennifer Connelly), and Charlie (Oakes Fegley) are on a run, trying to escape from approximately a hundred versions of Jason 1. Charlie takes them to a friend's holiday home, a location that none of the Jasons are aware of!
They all are safe for a while until Jason 2 tracks them down with the help of Blair Caplan (Amanda Brugel).
Jason 2 helps Jason 1A in 'Dark Matter' finale episode
Jason 1A is alarmed to hear the gunshot around the house. When he steps outside, he sees that multiple Jasons have arrived and they are killing each other.
Inside the house, a version of them confesses that he is Jason 2, the one who built the box. He says that he hasn't come here to get Daniela and Charlie.
Realizing the chaos he has spread in the universe, he lets Jason 1A escape with his family.
In the car, he has left for them a box of ampoules and a voice message in which he talks about his envy, regrets, and bad choices.
Jason 1A escapes through the box in 'Dark Matter' ending
Jason 1A, Daniela, and Charlie arrive at the storage facility where the box is located only to shockingly find that dozens of Jason are already there.
Jason 1A initially assumes that it was Jason 2's evil plan to trap him. However, a version of Jason 1 steps up and says that they all are here to bid them goodbye.
While some of the versions aren't happy to let go of Daniela and Charlie, they finally make the ultimate sacrifice for the happiness and peace of their wife and son.
They all make way for the family to enter the box. Using the ampoules, Jason 1A, Daniela, and Charlie open the box to an alternate reality, which would be their new world.
What happens to other Jasons in 'Dark Matter'?
All the other Jasons, including Jason 2 are left behind in Reality 1. Their fate has not been addressed in the finale episode.
Jason 2 had handed all the ampoules to Jason 1A, which makes it impossible for other versions to resume their multiverse adventures.
What happens to other characters in 'Dark Matter' finale'?
The final moments of the episode give a sneak peek into the fate of other characters as well. Ryan 1 (Jimmi Simpson), who was abandoned by Jason 2 in another world is working on making the magic pills. He even meets Amanda 2 (Alice Braga), though it's not disclosed what they'll be up to.
Blair 2, who was trapped in an apocalypse world, is finally ready to resume her journey. Dawn is still waiting for Leighton or Jason to return to Reality 2.
Meanwhile, Leighton 1 (Dayo Okeniyi), who willingly left Reality 1 is enjoying his multiverse travels.
