'Bridgerton' fans break down as Penelope and Colin finally tie the knot in Season 3

However, the path to true love wasn't without its obstacles, as the biggest hurdle came from the revelation of Penelope's secret identity, which left Colin heartbroken.

His initial reaction to this discovery was one of hurt and betrayal, leaving viewers wondering if their love could survive.

Against all odds, the power of love prevailed, and despite their reservations, the power couple finally got married, sending the Internet into a meltdown.

Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington got married despite minor hiccups in 'Bridgerton' Season 3

Colin and Penelope's world seems to be on the brink of collapse just a day before their wedding when he discovers that his fiancée is Lady Whistledown.

Colin is horrified and feels betrayed, as he recalls the venom Lady Whistledown had spewed about his family, feeling his trust has been breached.

He went on to say that he would never forgive Penelope, which hurt her deeply. However, this does not mean she will take a backseat as Lady Whistledown.

She confides in Genevieve Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale) that she refrained from writing for a week, but it makes her feel like a part of her is missing.

The couple subsequently meet, during which Colin expresses his anger. However, things calm down as they share a kiss. Before things can escalate further, Penelope departs.

Kathani 'Kate' Sharma (Simone Ashley) reminded Colin that marriages require hard work and that a single event should not ruin his feelings for her.

The next day, Colin attends the wedding ceremony, despite his heartbreak. The ceremony proceeds well, and the two of them are pronounced as husband and wife.

Fans swoon over Polin's wedding song 'Yellow'

As soon as the episode became available on the streaming site, eager fans swarmed to X to express their excitement and satisfaction. Aside from the wedding vows, viewers praised the use of the song 'Yellow' in the episode, with many expressing that they shed tears of joy.

One fan wrote, "The classical reenvision of the song Yellow on their wedding scene is soooo perfect . It really embodies the bride and how the color associates with our young Penelope; our young Penelope on a yellow dress who has always been admiring Colin."

Another fan added, "OHMYGOD THEY PLAYED YELLOW DURING PENELOPE AND COLIN'S WEDDING GOODBYE."
