Bette Midler mocks Donald Trump Jr over watery eyes in RNC speech: ‘Did Kimberly G yell at him?’
Donald Trump Jr. delivered an impassioned speech in support of his father during the opening day of the Republican National Convention on Monday, August 24, and painted a dystopian picture of America under Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's administration but it was his eyes that were the talk of social media.
The 42-year-old, who regularly riles up the Republican base with incendiary and demeaning comments about his father's political opponents, found himself on the receiving end of some mockery after several questioned why his eyes were so "watery."
Among those who took a shot at Trump Jr. was actress Bette Midler, a vocal critic of Donald Trump and someone who has previously suggested that the president was a "murderer" over his response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Donald Trump Jr. looks like he’s been crying. Did Kimberly G. yell at him?" she wrote, referring to his wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who herself has been ridiculed for her speech at the convention.

"He [Trump] is the president who delivers for America," Guilfoyle had said. "He built the greatest economy the world has ever known for the strivers, the working class, and middle class. As commander-in-chief, he always puts America first. President Trump is ‘the’ law and order president. Now, presidential leadership is not guaranteed, it is a choice. Biden, Harris, and the rest of the socialists will fundamentally change this nation. They want open borders, closed schools, dangerous amnesty, and will selfishly send your jobs back to China while they get rich. They will defund, dismantle and destroy America's law enforcement. When you are in trouble and need police, don't count on the Democrats."
While some had praised Guilfoyle's speech as "high energy," others, like Midler, had been less than impressed and had slammed her for screaming and being too "loud."
Midler was not the only one who noticed Trump Jr.'s oddly moist eyes either. "WOW. @DonaldJTrumpJr you should have held back a little there," actress Debra Messing tweeted. "And one word: Visine. #DonnieDrugs."

The claim that Trump Jr. had taken drugs before his speech was a popular one on Twitter, with "cocaine" trending on the social media platform shortly after he was done speaking.
"When you don't know what #cocaine is You're just sad you're dad's probably gonna be President for 4 more years due to voter & legislative apathy & it killed your buzz," one user wrote.

"Why are ppl dunking on don jr for probably being on yack. He’s the dopey least favorite son of the president. Doing cocaine and saying the dumbest s**t imaginable is his entire wheel house. He was born to do it," a second user posted.

"Funny, the only way I could stomach making it through his speech appears to be about the same way he must have felt while giving it. Ooof. #cocaine," another tweeted.

In his speech, Trump Jr. had warned that electing Joe Biden in November would be bad news for the country and lead to the erosion of the rights everyone held so dear. "Joe Biden and the radical left are also now coming for our freedom of speech and want to bully us into submission," he said. "If they get their way, it will no longer be the ‘silent majority’, it will be the ‘silenced majority.'"
