'Chose to share our lives': 5-time PGA Tour winner Colin Morikawa marries longtime GF Katherine Zhu
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Five-time PGA tour winner Collin Morikawa is married! Morikawa, 25, has tied the knot with his longtime partner and fellow golfer Katherine Zhu in an intimate black and white wedding at the Bel-Air hotel at Los Angeles on Saturday, November 26. The ceremony looked beautiful with a 100 close friends and family showing up to be there for the couple on their big day. A 10-piece wind and string orchestra had played the “most beautiful music” for the evening. The wedding was put together by Mindy Weiss, of the Mindy Wiess Party Consultants. Allen & Bright’s 'Somewhere Only We Know' played as the groom and bride walked down the aisle, with 'On Top Of The World' by Imagine Dragons playing at the recessional. Traditional vows were said to each other at the ceremony, with personal vows being said to each other in private.
The bride wore a Vera Wang dress while the groom sported a tuxedo from Stitch+Heart. Zhu later wore a Galia Lahav dress for the reception which was decorated with flowers. The wedding cake was also a thing of beauty- a white chocolate and strawberry cake, frosted with white cream and topped with sugar flowers.
Zhu and Morikawa have been together for five years. They met in 2017 while they both attended University of California Berkeley together. Morikawa popped the question to Zhu last November. Their relationship has been a strong one, with them constantly supporting each other at their games as well. Zhu has even served as Morikawa’s caddy at times.
Morikawa had opened up about how life has been good since he met his now-wife, “It's crazy cause I won my first college tournament that next week, I think. And we've done pretty good since," he said at the time, admitting they're both very competitive. "Yeah, always. We're never letting each other win. I think she beats me, probably on 70% of our chipping competitions," Morikawa said, adding, "It just always makes me a better player."
