SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: 'The Atypical Family', a South Korean romantic fantasy drama, has already begun captivating audiences on Netflix. This 12-episode series follows the Bok family, each with unique supernatural powers. However, the stresses of modern life have dampened their abilities.

Jang Ki-yong stars as Bok Gwi-joo, who can travel back in time. When depression strikes, this power fades – mirroring the struggles of the rest of the Bok family.

Then another character Do Da-hae, played by Chun Woo-hee, becomes entangled with the Boks. As Da-hae integrates into their family, episode two explores whether she might be the key to reigniting their extraordinary abilities.

The Bok family, struggling with the loss of their superpowers, is thrown into chaos when Gwi-joo attempts suicide. A mysterious woman, Da-hae, saves him and enters the family. Da-Hae offers hope – she helps Mrs. Bok sleep and seems to be a calming influence on Gwi-joo.

Meanwhile, family tensions rise as Gwi-joo's sister, Bok Dong-hee (Claudia Kim), loses her job due to her weight. Meanwhile, Bok In-ah remains withdrawn after witnessing her father's suicide attempt. We learn that Gwi-joo used his time travel power to save someone, causing friction with his deceased wife.

The episode ends with a shocking twist: Da-Hae isn't who she seems. She's part of a family of con artists targeting the gullible Boks. However, Da-Hae's kindness towards In-ah hints at a deeper motive. In-ah, meanwhile, reveals a hidden power of her own, foreshadowing future complications.
