It's so 'Yummy'! Justin Bieber's new single is out after five-year hiatus and Beliebers are going crazy
It's finally here! The crown prince of pop, Justin Bieber (or is it R&Bieber now?) has his brand-new single called 'Yummy' out. Fans have been smacking their lips in anticipation for this new release since Christmas weekend. Here are our first impressions of the latest single, which you can listen to here.
This is the first solo music that Bieber has officially released in almost five years. His last studio album was 'Purpose' in 2015, and his new (yet-to-be-named) album will be out in early 2020.
The 'Yummy' track is certainly appetizing. It's got a catchy hook ("you got that yuummmy-yum, that yuummmy-yum"), groovy beats, slick production, and 'bears' the unmistakable mark of Bieber's long-time songwriting collaborator, Poo Bear, who previously worked with him on 'Journals' and 'Purpose.'
The smooth, free-flowing lyrics weave a story about a beautiful woman who is like a wild, unbreakable stallion, born to roam free. Bieber is clearly seduced by this enigmatic lover and her attractive charms. He tells her to just "say the word" at any time of day "morning or late" and he promises he will drop everything for her and be "on my way." She is not just some disposable side-chick either, the singer assures her that she's his number one woman. He even goes into a flowing, rap-meets-R&B vibe on the verses, and commends her on her lit style, quiet grace, and her ability to move him into states of ecstasy: "rolling eyes back in my head, make my toes curl".
It's a mellow, lilting, soulful love song, and is sure to get Bieber's fans amped up for the release of the forthcoming album.

As expected, Bieber's fans have been thrilled to bits with the new track! They're ecstatic, incredibly grateful and have gone into meltdown on social media after years of nothing new from the Bieber camp. Justin was forced to take an extended hiatus from music in 2017 due to exhaustion.
