Youtuber acidentally posts video showing her slapping and spitting on her pet dog, faces police investigation
A 20-year-old YouTuber has been placed under police investigation after video footage emerged showing her allegedly hitting and then spitting on her dog. The YouTuber, Brooke Houts, has received a lot of backlash for allegedly abusing her pet Doberman, Sphinx, in a YouTube video.
The video was circulated online and shows Houts smacking her dog after he jumped up at her. She then shouts "No!" and pins him down onto the floor when she spits at him. Houts subscribers believe that she had accidentally shared an unedited clip of the abuse on social media. The video was re-published by YouTuber Keemstar on Twitter on Wednesday. Ever since the video was shared online, the video garnered around 22 million views.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Animal Cruelty Task Force revealed that they were investigating the incident. Since the video made itself online, Houts has faced a lot of criticism from social media users and a few popular YouTube stars. YouTuber Logan Paul called the video "remarkably grotesque." As reported by Mirror, he further added, "Discipline your animals should they misbehave. I get it. But despite the hitting, the spitting is a totally unwarranted, inappropriate, and vile display of energy that makes this woman completely unfit to own that dog."
Houts has released a statement responding to the abuse allegations. She took to Twitter to say that she was not a "dog abuser or animal abuser" in any way. She also apologized for her actions and explained that she was "upset" and "frustrated" the day that she had filmed the horrific video. She added that her dog needed expensive training. "Anything I say isn’t going to make those who believe I’m a bad person stop believing that, and I’m aware of this," she said.
She went on to apologize to all those who had been affected by the video. Houts also defended herself by saying that she is usually the bright and bubbly person seen in her YouTube videos but was very frustrated when the video was taken. "That being said, this does NOT justify me yelling at my dog in the way that I did, and I’m fully aware of that," she continued. Many users are pushing for her YouTube account to be banned.
