WASHINGTON, DC: The House of Representatives has expelled Congressman George Santos in a historic vote, following an ethics report and dozens of criminal charges, reported BBC, who also shared Santos’ words as he left the Capitol: “To hell with this place.”

Following this, Republican Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her views on Santos’ expulsion and labeled this vote against the former Congressman “shameful.”

Greene expressed her frustration over Republicans "refusing to impeach" Democrats on the social media platform. However, the internet seemed to have no sympathy for her and they resorted to mockery in the comments.

On X, moments after George Santos’ expulsion from Congress, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “Republicans refuse to impeach any of the Democrats who are responsible for destroying our country and have so far thrown out a Republican Speaker and now expelled a Republican member.”

Greene continued with her rant, “We now have a 3 seat majority and have another Republican resigning soon, and will have a 2 seat majority, as long as every Republican shows up when we are in session.”

She also added, “Republican voters want us to stop the communist Democrat’s agenda and hold Democrats accountable, NOT destroy our majority and do nothing to hold Democrats accountable.”

The Congresswoman concluded her remarks on Santos’ expulsion with one word: “Shameful!!”

Internet mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene’s statement on X

After Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her thoughts after George Santos’ expulsion, the internet was quick to respond as Greene received over 10K comments on X.

One person wrote, “Fact Checking...CONCLUSION: It appears that Marjorie Taylor Greene is trying to blame the Democratic Party for the criminality of George Santos and the clown show that is the House Republican Party. That's... that's too bad,” and another wrote, “You keep losing.”

“Worried you might be next?” mocked one user, and another expressed a similar thought, writing, “Your time is coming and I can hardly wait.” One more person simply mocked her for complaining, writing, “Boo f**king Hoo.”

Greene continued to face backlash on the social media platform as one user wrote, “Shut up Marge. You b***h about Republicans and call Democrats Communists. Just quit and do everyone a favor.”

The same person continued to say, “Bye Santos! All you do is whine, yell and complain!” and another wrote, “Raise your hand if you want a MTG Expulsion Next?”
