'Your Place or Mine' was announced in May 2020 with Netflix distributing the film, as we know it will star Reese Witherspoon, and she is also one of the producers. Speaking of Witherspoon as a producer, her first ever produced was 2014's 'Wild'. She has since worked primarily in television, producing and starring in several female-led literary adaptations under her company Hello Sunshine which was previously known as Pacific Standard.

In 2014, Reese Witherspoon's production company Pacific Standard invested to produce two films just to test the waters. First was, 'Wild'  helmed by Jean-Marc Vallee. It made about 52.5 million dollars at the box office, furthermore, it was nominated for two Academy Awards. Second is Rosamund Pike starring 'Gone Girl,' which was a critical and commercial success, grossing over 369 million dollars worldwide against a 61 million dollar budget. The film also received nominations for an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award.

Apart from, 'Gone Girl' and 'Wild,' there is 2015's 'Hot Pursuit' helmed by Anne Fletcher then

2019's 'Lucy in the Sky' directed by Noah Hawley. The one last time Pacific Standard produced a film was 2022's 'Where the Crawdads Sing' helmed by Olivia Newman, which undoubtedly was a huge success.

After 2022's 'Where the Crawdads Sing,' Pacific Standard became a subsidiary of Hello Sunshine, a firm co-owned by Witherspoon and Otter Media, focused on telling female-oriented stories through film, television, and digital channels. In 2022, Hello Sunshine produced 'Something from Tiffanys' helmed by Daryl Wein. 'Something from Tiffany's also marked as debut film for Hello Sunshine, however, it is also co-produced with Amazon Studios.

Regardless, the official synopsis of Witherspoon's upcoming produced film reads, "Debbie and Peter are best friends and total opposites. She craves routine with her son in LA, but he thrives on change in NY. When they swap houses and lives for a week they discover what they think they want might not be what they really need."

'Your Place or Mine' is releasing on February 10, 2023, only on Netflix.
