Spoilers for ‘Your Honor’ Episode 4 aka ‘Part Four’

Kofi Jones is dead. Played by Lamar Johnson, the character who took the fall for Adam Desiato (Hunter Doohan) has been tortured and killed. In the third episode of ‘Your Honor’, Gina Baxter (Hope Davis) got her son Carlo Baxter (Jimi Stanton) — “a vicious, dangerous racist” — out of the prison for Rocco Baxter's funeral.

Even though she was instructed by the cops to maintain a distance, she walked right over to hug her son and whispered something in his ears. It's clear that Gina had a motive there. She didn't go to hug her son just like that. Gina clearly told her son to murder Kofi Jones in the prison facility before the trial can begin. Lo and behold! The fourth episode begins with Kofi Jones' death.

And if that isn't a shocker in itself, the episode ends with a loud explosion — at the house of Kofi Jones — as Gina and Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg) look on. At the beginning of the episode, Jimmy is devastated to hear that Carlo has murdered Kofi and he gets another bolt out of the blue when Carlo tells him it was Gina who demanded it: “That’s not what mom said.” Those words will ring in Jimmy's head for a long time, won't they?

Throughout the episode, he drives his daughter Fia (Lilli Kay), back to the Lord. However, towards the end, they embrace on a balcony after the house explodes. The question on fans' minds after that scene is: Who ordered the explosion, Gina Baxter or Jimmy Baxter? “Who ordered the hit on Kofi's home? Mr or Mrs Baxter?? And WHY? like the poor kid is already dead... why wouldn't they go after some higher up on the totem pole... I feel horrible for Kofi's little brother. Now he's an orphan, I guess,” one fan asked.

Another said, “Gina Baxter ordered the hit on both Kofi and his house and family. She's sending a message: Mess with any member of my family and you're dead! Now the little brother only has the gang, Desire, as his family...OMG! And when the truth comes out, and I think it will, Kofi and his family will have died in vain!”

But a third one added, “I thought it was Jimmy who ordered it as retaliation after his wife kept harping on him for doing nothing...” A fourth one agreed. “Ya she’s harboring some real resentment for Jimmy gifting him that motorcycle!! I think Jimmy is actually the boss but he’s off his game and breaking down because of the grief and guilt over his son. It’s also implied that the family is religious..which often encourages traditional roles.”

The fan also added, “I feel like Gina feels like Jimmy failed the family by not protecting the family..and that’s why she seeks out the next most powerful male Baxter to 'protect' the family...in this case, exact revenge. She sees the man's role as to protect, which is why she has no qualms about allowing her other son to get revenge and risk his release.”

What do you think about these theories? Dish out what's in your mind! Written by David Matthews, the fourth episode aka ‘Part Four’ will premiere on December 27, 2020, on Showtime Channel. You can also catch the show on Showtime’s official website and on the Showtime App.
