‘Young Sheldon' Season 3 Episode 5: Fans excited that Dr John Sturgis will soon be returning to the show
While we are enjoying catching up on our favorite sitcom 'Young Sheldon', we can't help but feel the void left behind by the eccentric yet lovable professor, Dr. John Sturgis this season. The previous season ended with Dr. Sturgis experiencing a mental breakdown that lands him in a psychiatric facility. We were hoping to see our favorite professor back on screen this season but unfortunately, Dr. Sturgis still hasn’t made an appearance on the show. The pilot episode of the ongoing season 3 revealed that Dr. Sturgis is still at a facility receiving all the care he needs. It is not just Sheldon and meemaw who are missing the goofy professor but also the fans.
The writers seem to have decided to fulfill the fans' plea to bring back our favorite character, as we will be seeing Sheldon's idol- Dr. Sturgis returning in the upcoming episode 5. The cliffhanger for the next episode showed the professor meeting the Coopers. We see Georgie wondering how was he let out of the "nuthouse", as Mary chastises him for using the word "nuthouse". The Cooper kids appear to be curious about Dr. Sturgis's release from the hospital, as Missy also can be seen asking him how did he know he was getting better. Dr. Sturgis explains to her that he has learned the skills needed to manage his mental health.
Fans are already excited about his return and have taken to their social media to express the same. A fan tweeted, "I'm SO pleased to see that Dr Sturgis is returning to the #YoungSheldon! I was REALLY worried that the writers had gotten rid of him. Wise decision, bringing him back...he certainly adds to the show! Do NOT take him away ever again!"
