A heartbroken father has finally laid to rest his two young daughters, 18 months after their mother murdered them in cold blood because they "got in the way" of her sex life.

MEAWW previously reported that Louise Porton, 23, of Rugby, Warwickshire, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 32 years after she was found guilty on two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of her two daughters, Lexi Draper, and Scarlett Vaughan.

In a statement read out at Birmingham Crown Court during her sentencing in August, the children's father, Chris Draper, 25, said he had been left "broken" by their deaths.

He said the young girls, aged just three and 16-months-old, had been "let down by the system" and that his only comfort was that "both Lexi and Scarlett" are together now.

This past week, Draper, who had continually been tormented by Porton over whether he was their father, confirmed on his public Facebook page that he buried the two girls.

He shared pictures of the children being taken to their final resting place in a white, horse-drawn carriage. The horses were draped in purple, while Lexi's and Scarlett's white coffins had been covered in wreaths.

"My girls am home know today your family lay u to rest even though you shouldn't be there," he wrote. "But your daddy babies has sent you away in style and the whole of Walsall and Bloxwich knows who you are and to some people, you are loved [sic]."

"And babies nobody will ever take that from especially from me my family and new friends give u the send of u deserved all eyes on u and you'll be missed but never forgotten," he continued. "Sleep tight babies daddy got you DADDY WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK sleep tight love your daddy [sic]."

Draper was only able to bury his daughters now because the legal proceedings against Porton had bee completed. Porton was found guilty of killing both Lexi and Scarlett within 18 days of each other in January 2018.

During her trial, the jury heard how, having failed to kill Lexi on two previous occasions, she strangled her to death on January 15 at a hotel room in Rugby. Chilling footage from the scene showed her ushering both daughters into the room earlier that night.

Then, on February 1, the day of Scarlett's death, she was caught on CCTV driving around the neighborhood calmly and even stopping for gas as the 16-month-old girl lay dead or dying in the back seat of her car. The footage was captured after she called emergency services to report that her daughter "wasn't breathing."

During her sentencing, Judge Mrs. Justice Yip condemned the 23-year-old's actions and called them "sinister."

"One way or another you squeezed the life out of your daughters," she told Porton. "Why you did so only you know. Your actions have devastated so many lives. Lexi and Scarlett had so much to offer to their wider family but you took all of that away."

"These were blameless young children who were plainly vulnerable and ought to have been able to rely on their mother to protect and nurture them," she continued, adding that her actions were "evil" and "calculated."
