LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Seth Meyers recently mocked former Donald Trump aides' warnings about the potential risks in the event the ex-president wins a second term.

Cassidy Hutchinson, who previously served as a White House aide during the Trump administration, has expressed serious concerns about the future of democracy in the US.

She reportedly warned of potential repercussions if Trump were to be victorious in the 2024 presidential election, per Independent.

"If Donald Trump is elected president again in 2024, I do fear that it will be the last election where we’re voting for democracy because if he is elected again, I don’t think we’ll be voting under the same Constitution," she told Jen Psaki.

Seth Meyers' take on Trump's potential return to power

Seth Meyers scrutinized the potential outcomes of the 2024 presidential election, highlighting the numerous negative implications that could arise from Donald Trump securing a second term.

John F Kelly, who served as the longest-tenured chief of staff during Donald Trump’s presidency, reportedly observed Trump's dominance in the GOP primary with growing unease.

"What’s going on in the country that a single person thinks this guy would still be a good president when he’s said the things he’s said and done the things he’s done?" Kelly asked in an interview.

"It’s beyond my comprehension he has the support he has. If anything, his numbers go up. It might even move the needle in the wrong direction. I think we’re in a dangerous zone in our country," he added.

Meyers first appreciated Kelly's warning and later explained that the former aide "saying we're in a dangerous zone now is like one of those weather guys who reports live from inside a category-five hurricane."

He continued, "Clinging to a light pole while a shark swims by in waist-deep floodwater, saying, 'The wind's really starting to pick up out here! You might want to rethink your picnic! And if you do have any food, make sure to wrap it up like this!'"

Meyers then said it is indeed interesting when these former Trump associates finally realize "how the rest of us have felt" for the past seven years. "It's 2023, and suddenly they're like, 'Oh, goodness. I don't get it. How can people support this guy?"

Meyers mocked the aides saying, "You worked for him! It's like if someone said, 'How can anyone listen to Hall and Oates?' And you turned around to see who it was, and it was [bleep] Oates."

"So Trump's former aides are now speaking out because they can't believe he's actually in a dead heat with Biden," the host added.

Meyers pointed out that Trump has been quite transparent about his plans, claiming if he secures a second term, he intends to use the Justice Department to target those he perceives as enemies, whom he has referred to as "vermin."

Meyers emphasized, "That’s not an exaggeration. That’s an exact quote."

According to a report by The Washington Post, Trump and his allies are expected to seek retribution in a potential second term. Trump himself has openly acknowledged this in various rallies and interviews.

'How would a genie even come out of a box?'

The host then played Trump's interview montage where he stated, "What they've done is they've released the genie out of the box."

Meyers mocked Trump and said, "Famously, that is the saying. They released the genie out of the box, they opened Pandora's Lamp, and they let the cat out of solitary confinement."

"How would a genie even come out of a box?" he asked. "You just rub the sides of random DHL packages, and if you get lucky, a voice from inside says, 'I am the genie of the box! You're gonna need to poke a hole in the side for me!'"

Meyers went on, "And I'll tell you this much. There's no way a box genie has three wishes to give. If a genie's in a box, that genie's in a bad place in his life."

Meyers subsequently responded to Trump's statement, "This is third-world-country stuff. Arrest your – Arrest your opponent. And that means that I could do that, too."

Meyers pointed out that only Trump would label something as “third-world” in one sentence and then immediately boast about doing the same thing in the next sentence.

Meyers said in Trump's voice, "It's disgusting what they're doing to me. Only a truly appalling, cretinous, subhuman monster would ever stoop to such grotesque and horrifying lows. Which is why I'm very excited to announce... that I will soon be doing the exact same thing!"

Trump compares indictments to those of Al Capone

Meyers later commented on Trump comparing his indictments to those of Al Capone.

Meyers mentioned, "So he definitely is thinking of the famous scene from 'Goodfellas'. He probably thinks Joe Pesci is Al Capone."

Again mimicking the ex-POTUS, Meyers said, "Al Capone, the most vicious of gangsters. The only two people who could take him down were Eliot Ness and Kevin McCallister. You know, I met Kevin McCallister once. He was lost in New York. It was very sad. Very sad."

Meyers said he hates how Trump says "Alphonse Capone." "He's so proud he knows what the "Al" is short for. He knows one fact, and he's walking around like he's Ken Jennings."

The host added, "He probably only knows it because a box genie told him. 'For my first wish, I want to be president again.' 'Oh, no can do.'"

Meyers then switched to Trump's tone and stated, 'That's way above my pay grade. I can tell you what Al Capone's full name is, though. You want that? That's not a wish, but it's a pretty good fun factoid. Alright. I'm gonna get back in the box. Enh.'"
