Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe died at the age of 74 on November 13, 2020. The serial killer was serving a whole life term for murdering 13 women across Yorkshire and north-west England. Sutcliffe took his last breath in the hospital after he refused to get treated for Covid-19. He was sentenced in 1981 and spent three decades at Broadmoor Hospital before being moved to HMP Frankland in County Durham in 2016. But even though the serial murderer was behind the bars, his love story still bloomed with a 28-year-old while his days in jail, before Sutcliffe decided to dump her last year.

The Yorkshire Ripper dumped cheerleader Krystal Smith, telling her to forget him and to find someone of her own age. The couple was exchanging flirtatious letters and the girl even shower her interest in marrying him, despite the huge age difference. But despite claims, the couple were going to try to have an IVF baby together. Sutcliffe used to refer to her as his 'darling gal'.

Writing to her from his cell at HMP Frankland in County Durham, he has told her she is "in too deep" and she should "move on", as reported by The Sun, last year. Smith began penning letters to Sutcliffe in 2018 from her house in North Carolina and the pair allegedly confessed their love for each other. In fact, Sutcliffe contacted his former wife Sonia Sutcliffe to ask for permission to marry again. According to The Sun, the killer told a friend: "She's a lovely looking girl. She has been mentioning for a while that she'd like to be the next Mrs. Sutcliffe. So I said 'Yes'. Her parents have told her they support the wedding."

In a 2019 Twitter post, one Internet user shared her picture and wrote, "Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe dumps American cheerleader girlfriend Krystal Smith."

Last year, it was reported that Sutcliffe had breathing difficulties, high blood pressure, diabetes and at one point he almost went blind. Sutcliffe murdered women who mostly worked as prostitutes between 1976 to 1981 using knives, hammers, and screwdrivers. In 2017, it was reported that he may have murdered more than 13 women and was questioned about 17 unsolved cases.
