'Yellowstone' spin-off starring Matthew McConaughey is happening, Paramount executive confirms
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Yellowstone' universe is expanding with its many spin-offs, the most-anticipated being the one starring Matthew McConaughey. Taylor Sheridan's series already has two prequels, '1883' starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill followed '1923' starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford.
In a recent interview, ViacomCBS President Chris McCarthy confirmed that the spin-off was in the works, adding that production was moving forward irrespective of whether Kevin Costner returns to 'Yellowstone'. While McCarthy did not share any further details he did say that the show "wouldn't be what it is today without Kevin and we hope that stays for a long time to come," as per The Hollywood Reporter.
