'Yellowstone' Season 5 cast update: Here are all the new stars set to join HIT Paramount show

Fan favorites like Kevin Costner, Gil Birmingham, Luke Grimes, and Kelly Reilly are almost guaranteed to return

'Yellowstone', created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, premiered on June 20, 2018 on Paramount Network. The series follows John Dutton (Kevin Costner) who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, commonly called "the Yellowstone", and his family that’s fighting like hell to maintain it. The series also explores the conflicts along the shared borders of a large cattle ranch, an Indian reservation, and land developers. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari and Stephen Kay.

On February 3, 2022, Paramount Network renewed the series for a fifth season. Unlike the previous seasons which featured 10 episodes each, the new season will have 14, split into two seven-episode installments.The fifth season is scheduled to premiere on November 13, 2022.  Fan favorites like Kevin Costner, Gil Birmingham, Luke Grimes, and Kelly Reilly are almost guaranteed to return. However, viewers will be excited to learn that there have been some new casting updates and a few new faces are being added to season 5. The most exciting casting update is that recurring actors Mo Brings Plenty (aka Mo) and Wendy Moniz (aka Governor Lynelle Perry) will now join the cast as regulars for the fifth season. In addition, four new actors will debut as recurring characters in the fifth season. Kai Caster, known for 'American Horror Story' (2011), 'The Baxters' (2019) and 'A Girl Named Jo,' will be playing Rowdy, a young cowboy. Country music singer–songwriter Lainey Wilson will play Abby, a musician, in Season 5. Lilli Kay, known for 'Your Honor' (2020) and  'Madam Secretary (2014), will play Clara Brewer, a new assistant for the Dutton family. Meanwhile, Dawn Olivieri, who appeared in '1883' (2021), 'Bright' (2017) and 'Den of Thieves' (2018), will play Sarah Atwood, a confident businesswoman looking to shake things up in Montana.



 

Moreover, Jefferson White is returning as Jimmy Hurdstrom and Kathryn Kelly is joining the main cast as chief vet technician Emily. 'Yellowstone' viewers will remember Jimmy's emotional goodbye before heading back to the 6666 ranch with his fiancé.



 

Kylie Rogers (Young Beth Dutton) and Kyle Red Silverstein (Young Rip Wheeler) will once again join the ranch for the first time since 2020. They will appear alongside Jacki Weaver (Caroline Warner), who made her first appearance in the fourth season. 'Yellowstone' fans will be excited to learn that Josh Lucas will also join the new season for the first time since 2019, playing a young John Dutton.



 

The fifth season of 'Yellowstone' is scheduled to premiere on November 13, 2022 on Paramount Network.
