A bomb blast, a stranger hurling gunshots and a killer-for-hire in a van firing bullets — the ‘Yellowstone’ Season 3 finale was nothing short of major heart attacks. 'The World is Purple’ left viewers in shock with that ending and now the one question on all minds is: Will John Dutton (Kevin Costner), Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) survive after that deadly attack?

Although there is much fear among fans, it is highly unlikely that John will die in the next season. What's more, there are several fan theories about how he could be alive. "Relax and think about this for a sec: 1. John Dutton isn’t dead 2. We don’t know if Beth is dead; she was on the other side of the room (from huge bomb blast) 3. We didn’t see Kayce die, he flipped up his desk AND had his revolver. 4. Next season is war. #YellowstoneTV," one fan said.

Another posted, "The most obvious would be Jaimie but it wasn’t him. It’s going to be someone we wouldn’t think of. But I think Beth is dead. John survives and Casey kills the gunman who enters his office. Jimmy is paralyzed not from the waist down but from the neck down. RIP will find John..."

Although our fingers are crossed, what are the possibilities in case John Dutton dies or decides to hand over his empire? Does he have a will? Jamie, Tate (Brecken Merrill) or Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) — who deserves to inherit the ranch? Fans are convinced that Jamie and his real father Garrett Randall are behind the attacks. If that is true, he might have a chance to inherit the property. One fan said, "Because if Kayce is still alive he gets the ranch. Take out Beth and Kayce as well as John and it’s Jamie’s."

However, another fan countered and posted, "Not necessarily see when they went to war with the beck Brothers John Dutton changed his will and gave Rip the ranch should anything go wrong because he was the only one who loved the ranch like John does."

So, whose name does Dutton's will have? It is quite possible that he may have transferred it to Rip. But since he never really loved any of his children more than he loved Tate, the little one's name is on top of the list. Now, while Jamie may think he earned the will after removing Kayce out of the way, Rip and Tate are strong contenders if — god forbid — anything happens to John.

While Tate is too young to assume the responsibilities, he does have a keen interest in the ranch. Until he is old enough to take over, Rip will perhaps hold the reigns and be the new John Dutton in Season 4.

However, only the makers know what's in store for the future. For now, we can wait and watch for the new season of ‘Yellowstone’ which is expected to release in 2021.
