Spoilers for 'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 3 titled 'An Acceptable Surrender'

That didn't feel like a good conclusion to the episode. Three episodes in Season 3 and the first of the Duttons is gravely injured or dead. Well, not exactly one of the Duttons, but there's a war coming and God only knows John (Kevin Costner) will need as many allies as is possible. In Episode 3 of Season 3 'An Acceptable Surrender', as Jamie (Wes Bentley) desperately tries to cover-up a big mistake and do damage control for what Hendon (James Jordan), and the threat on the Dutton Ranch inching closer, Jimmy is to compete in a rodeo competition.

Under normal circumstances, Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) has got it all under control. He is not new to the ruthlessness of the business and has very well proved his mettle in bucking horses the previous season. Only this time, the odds are slightly against Jimmy. The whole of the Dutton family, except Colby (Denim Richards) and the new Teeter (Jennifer Landon), go to watch the rodeo. Jimmy is set to buck a loose horse and win prize money. But just before he gets on the horse, Jimmy meets the love of his life.

The very pretty Mia enchants Jimmy immediately. She knows who he is, what he does, and seems to nurse a big crush for this expert rancher. The chemistry between them is undeniable as Jimmy then asks her out on a date that she is very much keen to go on. Lloyd, however, is constantly pressing Jimmy to refocus and quit picking women at the rodeo. Mia (Eden Brolin) and Jimmy bid farewell all shy and coy.

When a very distracted Jimmy sits on the horse, he is not entirely ready before the horse is left loose. Out there on the field, he barely lasts a minute — sending shock waves rippling through the entire audience at the rodeo. The final scenes of the episode show an ambulance coming in and paramedics gathering around an unconscious Jimmy.

And so, a lovestruck Jimmy finds himself in the hospital. Is he dead? Probably not. Is he gravely injured? Most likely, yes. But we need to wait till the next episode to really know about Jimmy's well-being. But that aside, it would be interesting to see brand new love on 'Yellowstone'.

'Yellowstone' airs on Sundays at 9 pm ET/ PT on Paramount.
