Xbox Live went down for nearly five hours on February 25, sending gamers across the country into chaos. The services resumed late last night on February 25 after the Microsoft online gaming service was down for a longer than ever duration.

However, gamers took to social media to express their angst in hilarious ways while also trying their hands at other hobbies for the first time in a while. Twitter had a field day with posts and comments pouring in from millions of interrupted gamers.

What actually happened?

The outage happened around 3.15 pm ET and soon Microsoft confirmed their probe into the outage. A tweet from the Xbox Support official account stated, “We are aware that users may not be able to sign-in to Xbox Live at this time. Our teams are currently investigating to fix this issue.”

Marking the issue as a 'major outage' on the Xbox status page, Microsoft also acknowledged that the fix was 'taking longer than anticipated'. In 2020, Xbox Live went down a few times, adding to the disappointment of millions of registered players during the pandemic.

Bored gamers fear wife will make them 'do more chores'

Hilarious reactions to the outage flooded Twitter once the gamers realized the fix is going to take quite a while.

Replying to the official tweet posted by Xbox Support, one user said, "I just finished work and my chores for the day. Now my wife is going to make me do more chores. Please fix quickly." He then added a photo of piled dirty laundry in the same thread, captioning - "It's too late for me. Save yourselves."

"Can't play @Xbox so I'm out here using my imagination", said another gamer who picked up the pens to draw. This user did not take it lightly, "@Xbox really was like "welp a big update dropped last night so we better fuck up everybody's systems as soon as they get home." "So Xbox live is down.. and the series x in front of me is just a box-shaped box with a light on it," said another.

The desperation was evident in this tweet and once the servers were restored around an hour ago, one user spoke everyone's mind with this tweet - "Xbox Live is back. We can all stop being bored."
