Xavier Breland: Missing Indiana mom Ciera’s husband deemed 'person of interest' for his conflicting statements
JOHN CREEK, GEORGIA: A woman from Indiana, Ciera Breland, vanished around the time she was supposedly preparing to file for divorce from her husband. The authorities have named Ciera's husband, Xavier Breland, as a "person of interest," although no criminal charges have been brought against him in relation to her disappearance.
The last time Ciera, who still remains missing, was reportedly seen was at 7.17 pm on February 24, 2022, when she was seen waiting outside her mother-in-law's home in Johns Creek, Georgia, for a delivery. Several targeted searches have since taken place, and evidence from within her mother-in-law's home has been gathered, but as of Tuesday, February 28, police stated there had been no new developments despite the investigation being "very active," according to Fox News. On February 25, 2022, Xavier reported his wife missing from their Carmel, Indiana, home. He informed the authorities that she may have went to visit a nearby CVS but never came back.

'Somebody kidnapped my wife'
Xavier's narrative was changed two days after he reported Ciera missing when, in a heartfelt Zoom call, he told his stepchildren that "somebody abducted her" and vowed to find his missing wife. On the call, he said, "Somebody kidnapped my wife. You know what it means when you kidnap an adult? She's not coming home, bud."
Furthermore, the FBI claimed there is no proof Ciera ever returned to Indiana after their vacation to Georgia, where she was visiting family with Xavier, their 5-month-old child, and their dog. Kelly Locklair, Ciera's mother, claimed that her daughter had no plans to go back to Indiana. Court documents from a civil dispute between Xavier's mother and Xavier's sister, disclosed that the couple resided with Xavier's mother from February 14, 2022 to February 24, 2022.
Following considerable police suspicions of Xavier, his lawyer Bryan Howard stated, "There won't be any movement in this case if they only focus on him. He didn't do anything." In a series on Investigation Discovery, Ciera's family claimed that she was preparing to leave Xavier but held off because she was concerned he would be granted joint custody of their child in the event of a divorce.
Who is Xavier Breland?
Xavier is the spouse of Ciera, who has been missing for a year, and he also happens to have a criminal record that dates back to 2005. Court records claimed that he was convicted of a felony burglary offence in 2005 and was also charged with a separate firearms offence for "an accidental discharge of a firearm" in his home on February 28, 2022, two days after he reported Ciera missing.
When authorities in Coweta County, Georgia, discovered Xavier had an outstanding warrant for aggravated stalking, they accused him with hiding a tracker inside his daughter's stuffed animal in order to locate his ex-wife during a custody fight. When a jury found him not guilty of the charges in August 2022, he was deported from Georgia to Hamilton County, Indiana in February 2023 on a weapons charge. He has already secured bond, and at his hearing, he expressed to the judge his desire to get his life back.
