MEXICO CITY, MEXICO: 'Women in Blue' Episode 1 has officially premiered on Apple TV+, and it introduces Maria (Bárbara Mori), Valentina (Natalia Téllez), Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), and Angeles (Ximena Sariñana), who join the first female police force in Mexico.

In Episode 1, it is revealed that a serial killer is targeting and killing young women. As a serial killer terrorized the Mexican capital, the government, aiming to distract from the failing police force, launches a new recruitment campaign for female officers.

After a grueling boot camp, 16 women are chosen, including Maria, Valentina, Gabina, and Angeles. As the selection process progresses, the serial killer strikes again, killing a fourth victim who is discovered in a swimming pool.

The serial killer’s actions cause widespread panic and fear among women. However, by the end of the episode, the female recruits graduate from their training camp, proudly wearing their blue police uniforms. A particular focus is given to a woman named Paola, who leaves work late at night.

Will the four women uncover the truth about the killer?

The four women have joined the Mexican police force to advance their careers. Each of them is motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact, whether through seeking personal growth or addressing systemic issues.

However, the death of Paola could complicate matters further. The focus on her at the end of Episode 1 suggests that the serial killer might target her next.

The four women may then embark on a significant journey to uncover what happened to Paola. Through their investigation, they might discover that joining the police force was merely a publicity stunt.

Realizing that their joining the police force was a mere facade and that the true dangers remain unaddressed, they are likely to confront those in power.

Their journey will involve exposing the truth behind the serial killer's actions and the government's manipulation.

They will confront systemic corruption and negligence, which will inevitably impact the authorities, particularly the new police chief, Emilio Escobedo (Christian Tappan). Emilio might view these women as a threat due to their efforts to expose the truth.

Could the mystery woman’s death help find the killer?

The details of Paola's death might reveal patterns, motives, or connections that could lead investigators closer to identifying and apprehending the perpetrator.

Paola’s death is likely to severely impact the police force's reputation, especially given the public's existing frustration. If it becomes known that Mexico’s first female police force was merely a publicity stunt, it will exacerbate the situation, leading to further outrage and distrust towards the authorities.

In such a scenario, the pressure will intensify on the police to resolve the case swiftly and restore public confidence.

In 'Women in Blue', the four women, driven by their commitment to justice are likely to take an active role in the investigation. Their determination and fresh perspective could be helpful in piecing together the evidence and tracking down the killer.
