Law enforcement authorities released dramatic footage showing a woman unabashedly attacking a Greyhound bus with a car jack before trying to run over an old driver who was trying to stop her car from fleeing the scene. The woman in question has now been arrested on suspicion of assault.

The woman was seen attacking the side window of the Greyhound on the 1800 block of Bladensburg Road, in North East Washington on August 30, according to footage recorded by a passenger which was later released by Washington, D.C. police.

The incident began when 20-year-old Mariana Silver got into an argument with the driver after illegally trying to overtake the bus and clipping another car during the maneuver, police said.

According to a police report, the bus driver allegedly told the woman, "You're a crazy driver, you need to get off the road."

After things got heated, Silver started hitting the bus with a car jack from the trunk of her car and subsequently smashed the windows. Passengers started recording the incident from this point onwards.

In a conversation with WUSA9, 24-year-old Juan Blanco, who recorded the cell phone clip which later went viral, said, “She just started pounding like she wanted to get inside the bus. And everybody was really scared. Most of the people on the bus were elderly.”

One of the astonished passengers can be heard in the background, saying, “Is she fucking kidding me? She’s getting arrested. That’s a federal crime."

After the enraged woman is done smashing windows to her heart's content, she is seen getting back to her silver Audi A8. The bus driver, at this point, gets out of the bus and is blocking her car and trying to call the authorities on his cell phone. However, Silver doesn't seem to care and slowly hits him in order to get him out of the way.

“Leave him alone, leave him alone,” one man can be heard telling the woman as passengers intervene in total shock. "That’s an old man,” another says.

But the driver is resolute and despite Silver's attempts to get away, he holds his ground, prompting her to drive into him again.

One of the men at the scene is heard urging the bus driver to "move from out of the car so you don’t get hurt." In a stunning move, the driver is then seen jumping on the hood of the car as Silver pushes the car at full throttle. The impact sends the old man flying into the ground.

“Why would you jump into a car like that?” one stunned witness asks the driver who seems to have escaped without any severe injuries.

While, fortunately, the driver only sustained minor bruises during the altercation, Silver was eventually arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. That said, the driver managed to complete his scheduled route after the incident.

Greyhound said in a released statement: “Our standard protocol includes an interview with drivers following any incident, and we will continue cooperating with law enforcement on this matter as it is still under investigation. For additional information, please contact local authorities."
