Mother who threw 5-year-old son down 20 floors and jumped to her death moments later identified
The mother who was responsible for throwing her five-year-old son from a 20-story balcony before jumping to her death in Miami has been identified. 37-year-old Solanye Virginia Matos took her own life by leaping to her death from the balcony of a high-rise building in Miami on February 25. The investigators believe that she took the extreme step after she threw her son, Luciano Matos, from the same balcony just moments before.
WSVN-TV has reported that the authorities are currently investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. The high-rise apartment is located close to the Brickell City Center shopping complex. The police and the fire rescue crews arrived at the scene a little after 8 pm to find the toddler unresponsive close to the pool on the sixth-floor terrace.
