Iowa father locks 8-year-old boy in dark basement without food for months while girlfriend films torture
A woman in Iowa accused of helping her boyfriend allegedly torture his eight-year-old son also filmed the alleged abuse in the basement of their house.
Forty-year-old Traci Lynn Tyler and her 30-year-old boyfriend Alex Craig Shadow are on trial after being charged last year with first-degree kidnapping. Authorities claimed that the couple "intentionally subjected" the child to "physical and mental torture" in a six-by-six-foot area underneath the basement stairs for at least nine hours per day from July till September 2017.
The Daily Mail reported that the basement did not have a light, furniture, or even bedding for the child and he was forced to urinate into a tin coffee can. Prosecutors also said that the child wasn't given food while he was in the basement.
