Montana woman who delivered young girl to convicted rapist so he could abuse her gets 100 years
HELENA, MONTANA: A Montana woman admitted she delivered a young girl to a known and convicted rapist. The woman knew that the child would be sexually assaulted and has been sentenced to 100 years in prison as a result of her heinous involvement in the crime.
32-year-old Kimberly Feigert was sentenced on Tuesday, April 28 afternoon in Lewis and Clark County District Court.
She was labeled as a tier one sex offender. The District Court Judge Kathy Seeley also restricted Feigert from being eligible for parole for the first 25 years of her sentence. She must also complete most of her sex offender treatment program before she is up for release, the Helena Independent Record reported.
According to Seeley's sentence, Feigert has to finish the initial two phases of the state's three-phase sex offender treatment program before being released. Earlier this year, she pleaded guilty to one felony count of accountability to sexual intercourse without consent in exchange for the court dismissing two other felony counts, according to another report by the Independent Record.
The woman was arrested in January 2017, after the authorities were made aware that she had brought a young child to a building where a convicted rapist lived. At the time, sex offender, Andrew Paige was going through the sex offender treatment.
According to authorities, they began to investigate the incident after they found pictures on Paige's phone which showed the child in his bathroom where he had reportedly raped the victim. Prosecutors revealed that Feigert knew that Paige had planned on raping the child.
As per court documents, Paige and Feigert had spoken about sex crime during a recorded phone call that Page had made from prison. On the call, Feigert had told Paige that the girl "would not tell." Feigert was later charged with taking and distributing sexual pictures of a child under the age of 10.
Deputy County Attorney Melissa Broch and probation and parole officer, Lloyd Dopp, highlighted how Feigert is someone who requires the highly structured prison environment to fully benefit from the treatment programs she needs to participate in.
Dopp had testified that Feigert also claims to not participating in these conversations despite there being several records proving otherwise. The officer also added that Feigert claims that she was being controlled by the use of drugs and had tried to lay the blame on Paige.
Paige pleaded guilty to two lesser child sex abuse counts in January 2018 as part of a plea deal. He also agreed to cooperate in the current investigation on the prosecution of Feigert. He is looking at 25 years to life in the Montana State Prison given his plea deal.
He is currently being held at the men's state prison in Shelby, Montana as per prison records, Oxygen reports. It is also reported that Feigert had prepared a statement during her sentencing where she claimed that she would work to take the court-ordered treatment seriously.
"I'm sorry I lost my way," she said, the Independent Record states. "I ask for the chance to turn my words into actions."
