Grandma who tortured and killed grandson told his mother she'd 'never see him again' just before his death
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA: A grandmother who has been charged with murdering her five-year-old grandson told the young boy's mother that she would never see her son again just a few days before he died.
Michelle Boggs, 48, was arrested for the murder of five-year-old Keaton Boggs on March 20, 2020, with the boy dying after suffering severe injuries to his head, as well as genitals, according to the Sun.
The abuse had come to light after Keaton was admitted to the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown and medical staff notified the authorities because of the nature of the five-year-old's injuries.
He had bruises all over his body, a large laceration on his genitals, and suffered head trauma so severe that he had bleeding in his brain. Despite the best efforts of doctors, he could not be saved and died two days after he was admitted to the hospital.
At the time of his death, Keaton's mother, Jessika Bishop-Holt, had reportedly been eagerly waiting for a reunion with him. She had lost custody of him to Michelle Boggs, as well as her visitation rights, because of her problems with drug abuse but had been sober for a year when she tried to reconcile.
However, that attempt was blocked by Michelle Boggs, according to Bishop-Holt's mother Patty Holt, who explained the ordeal on Facebook and asked that friends and family pray for her daughter during this difficult time.
"You know Michelle Boggs you told me my daughter would never get her son so I guess you were right," she wrote. "God says we must forgive and I know that is the right thing to do but I will continue to pray for God to help me because I have forgiven all in my past but this is really hard... God please help me." "My heart is numb and I pray so hard for my daughter that is not gonna be able to give him that big hug that she has longed to do," she added.
In another, now-deleted post, Holt had shared a photo of Keaton that was taken just a few weeks before his death at his fifth birthday party that showed him covered in bruises. "I just want everyone that was this child's birthday party to get on your knees and asked God to forgive you form your silence when you see a child this bruised up," she shared.
Besides Bishop-Holt, Keaton's dad Christopher also reportedly struggled with drug addiction and lost his life to the disease last June. Their relationship with the latter's family was fractured, as indicated by posts on social media.
Boggs was not the only one arrested in connection to Keaton's death. Her daughter Chastity Wodzinski, 29, and her husband Peter Wodzinski, 32, are behind bars without bond at the North Central Regional Jail as well.
All three have been charged with felony death of a child by parent, guardian or custodian or other person by child abuse and face between 15 years to life imprisonment if they are convicted.
