Over the centuries, Wolverine has lived a life of constant war. But what happens when the perfect soldier finds himself in a time of relative peace? That's the question that Marvel Comics' new 'Wolverine' series will be exploring.

Now that mutantkind has found a safe haven on Krakoa, Logan actually has a chance to be happy for the first time in his life. Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't threats out there that need to be faced and when it comes to protecting mutantkind, he's the best there is at what he does.

As a part of X-Force, the mutant CIA, Wolverine is painfully aware of the dangers that are still plaguing the mutant species. But while in the past he may have had nothing to lose, Logan has a lot of things he needs to protect in this new world.

The first issue of the new series will feature the return of a classic Wolverine villain: the Russian super-soldier / serial killer Arkady Gregorivich Rossovich, better known as Omega Red. Seeing as how Omega Red is a mutant at the end of the day, he should logically be welcomed to Krakoa with a pardon much like many other former villains including Apocalypse and Mister Sinister but Logan is bound to have a hard time accepting his old enemy as an ally. If he even is an ally at that.

Here's the official solicitation for the upcoming first issue: "THE BEST IS BACK! Wolverine has been through a lot. He’s been a loner. He’s been a killer. He’s been a hero. He’s been an Avenger. He’s been to hell and back. Now, as the nation of Krakoa brings together all Mutantkind, he can finally be… happy? With his family all together and safe, Wolverine has everything he ever wanted… and everything to lose. Writer Benjamin Percy (X-FORCE, WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT) and legendary artist Adam Kubert (X-MEN, AVENGERS) bring the best there is to his new home! PLUS: The return of OMEGA RED!"

'Wolverine' #1 is scheduled to be released on February 19.
