MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: A court in Milwaukee has rejected a request to reduce the $50,000 bond set for a 10-year-old boy accused of murdering his mother on purpose because she wouldn't purchase him a virtual reality headset, reports said. The 10-year-old fatally shot his mother near 87th Hemlock streets at around 7 am on Monday, November 21. The son of Quiana Mann, 44, was angry at her for waking him up early that morning. Police initially believed the boy, who has not been named due to his age, was twirling the gun on his finger when it accidentally discharged a bullet and shot Mann.

However, they later learned that he got the keys to his mother's gun lock box the night before. The boy's lawyer argued that the bond should be reduced from $50,000 to $100 during his initial court appearance on Wednesday, December 7, since he has no means of support, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Thursday. The Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Jane Carroll, however, placed travel limitations on the 10-year-old and refused to reduce the amount of bail in the latest court hearing on Thursday, December 15.

Teen charged with shooting and killing mother as she visited her son's GRAVE!

Wisconsin 10-year-old who shot mom dead for not buying him a VR headset charged as an adult

According to the criminal complaint, obtained by WISN, the youngster initially informed police that the gunshot on November 21 was an accident. According to the lawsuit, he later claimed he shot his mother on purpose because he was angry with her for waking him up early and refusing to purchase him something he wanted. His older sister, who made the 911 call, told police that her brother had "rage issues" all his life and that he had been seeing a therapist who gave him a "concerning diagnosis." The police complaint noted how the boy "becomes very angry and acts out," as per WTMJ.

The boy was charged as an adult last month with alternate charges of first-degree intentional homicide or first-degree reckless homicide. The killing deeply concerned the Milwaukee community leaders who voiced their concern last week in a gathering. They also questioned Wisconsin state law mandates that children as young as 10 must be prosecuted as adults and are sent automatically to adult court. "Instead of being treated as a boy, he's being treated as an adult," said Ventae Parrow, a member of All of Us or None TMJ4.

According to family members, the youngster is being placed in juvenile jail and has mental health difficulties. Paul Dedinsky, the prosecutor in the case, as per a report, urged the judge to order the boy's release into the care of a relative in the event that he posts bond. The judge did not impose that restriction. Angela Cunningham, the boy's attorney, asserted that it would be "unheard of" to force a defendant in adult court to remain in a family member's custody while on pretrial release. Judge Carroll said that if the boy is released, he should be placed on GPS monitoring. Carroll ordered that he not be placed in shackles or any other kind of restraints and forbade the media from publishing any personal information about him, including his image and address, the report mentioned.
