Who is William Amos? Lawmaker appears NAKED on Zoom call after 'accidentally leaving camera on' while changing
A Canadian lawmaker apologized after appearing naked on a virtual legislative meeting video feed on Wednesday, April 14. William Amos, 46, a Liberal MP who has represented the Quebec riding of Pontiac since 2015, appeared on the screens of his fellow members of Parliament completely naked during the House of Commons meetings, while being flanked by the flags of Canadia and Quebec on either side.
His private parts were hidden by what appears to be a mobile phone he was holding in one hand. Amos did not appear in the public broadcast of the meeting as he was not speaking, but it is not clear who managed to grab the shot and send it to the press, reported the Daily Mail.

Who is William Amos?
William Amos MP (born December 4, 1974) is a Canadian lawyer and politician who has represented the riding of Pontiac in the House of Commons since the 2015 federal election.
Amos attended McMaster University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree. He also holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. He went on to attend McGill University's civil/common law program, from which he graduated in 2004. Amos was called to the bar in both Ontario and Quebec and worked for a large Montreal law firm, following which he played the role of an advisor to former Cabinet minister David Anderson on issues related to species at risk. He also worked in the Prime Minister's Office under Jean Chrétien.
By 2007, Amos was a lawyer for Ecojustice Canada, an environmental law charity that had partnered with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law to create the uOttawa-Ecojustice Environmental Law Clinic. The clinic provided legal advice to individuals and community groups involved in environmental law cases. During his time there, Amos collaborated as an author on four books, about the mining industry in Quebec and holding the Canadian government accountable for environmental enforcement.
Amos, who now serves as the parliamentary secretary to Industry Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, went on to win the Liberal nomination to run in Pontiac in the 2015 election, unseating the incumbent Mathieu Ravignat of the New Democratic Party. During the time of his election, Amos was teaching law at the University of Ottawa and serving as the director of the Ottawa-Ecojustice Environmental Law Clinic. Amos was then re-elected following the 2019 election.
'An unfortunate error'
“This was an unfortunate error,” Amos said in a statement sent by email Wednesday, regarding the video meeting incident. “My video was accidentally turned on as I was changing into my work clothes after going for a jog. I sincerely apologize to my colleagues in the House of Commons for this unintentional distraction. Obviously, it was an honest mistake and it won't happen again," Amos, who is married with two kids, added.
Claude DeBellefeuille, the party whip of the Bloc Quebecois MP, raised the incident during a point of order after the question period, and reminded everyone about parliamentary decorum, stated the Daily Mail. “It may be necessary to remind the members, especially the male ones, that a tie and jacket are obligatory, but so are a shirt, boxer shorts or pants,” she said in French, as reported by C24. “We have seen that the member is in great physical shape, but I think members should be reminded to be careful and control the camera well.”
