LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Baxters' just dropped all 3 seasons at once on Amazon Prime Video, surprising all of its viewers who were expecting just one season.

Based on Karen Kingsbury's widely popular book series, 'The Baxters' is an engaging family drama that follows Elizabeth and John Baxter and their five adult children.

Shot in 2018, 'The Baxters' faced several production hurdles, causing a significant delay in its debut. As a result, it premiered six years later. This delay might explain why all three seasons were released simultaneously.

Featuring Roma Downey, Ted McGinley, Ali Cobrin, Josh Plasse, and Masey McLain in key roles, 'The Baxters' premiered on Prime Video on Thursday, March 28th.

In a recent chat with journalist Kate O'Hare on her YouTube channel, 'The Baxters' star and executive producer Roma Downey hinted at the possibility of more episodes down the road, hinting at a possible Season 4.

When asked about the show's future, Downey said, "Well, let's, you know, I would say never say never. She [Karen Kingsbury] has certainly written enough books. I have enough material to keep going forever if I just get into my Blue Zone diet, I could be playing Elizabeth Baxter at 110... Yeah, yeah, yeah," suggesting that Season 4 isn't out of the question.

She even joked about playing her character, Elizabeth Baxter, well into old age, saying she has material for it. Downey also expressed her love for her work and praised the series saying, "But it's great. I love what I do. I feel so privileged to be able to combine what I believe with what I do," hinting she'd be happy to return if Amazon Prime Video decides to greenlight Season 4.

However, fans can take these comments as a hopeful sign for the show's continuation.

What is the plot of 'The Baxters' Season 3?

In 'The Baxters' Season 1, we follow the lives of Elizabeth and John Baxter along with their five grown children. Things take a dramatic turn when John's daughter discovers her husband, a professor, has been unfaithful to one of his students. She embarks on a journey to understand their relationship and fights to salvage her marriage.

In  'The Baxters' Season 2, the family's faith was tested in new and profound ways. Ashley began to take control of her life, while Kari struggled with the death of her husband. Then, when an unthinkable tragedy struck the community, each Baxter family member was affected and had to cope. Luke, once a confident believer in God, spiraled into anger and doubt after his relationship with Reagan was tested.

In 'The Baxters' Season 3, Luke was still reeling from the horrific tragedy at his family’s church. Angry at himself and everyone around him, Luke became hardened as he moved further away from his faith and family.

The other Baxter siblings had to navigate their own unique collective hardships. Kari had doubts about marrying Ryan, and Ashley’s past life in Paris returned to haunt her.
