'Zootopia 2' star joins Alfonso Ribeiro for 'Christmas Day Parade', teases 'DWTS' plans: 'Could I do it...'
With Christmas around the corner, Disney has entered celebration mode with the production of its 'Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade', an annual event commemorating the best of the festive season. The filming of the parade is now making headlines due to a 'Zootopia 2' star joining 'Dancing With The Stars' host Alfonso Ribeiro for a performance. Ginnifer Goodwin donned her dancing shoes for a number choreographed by the Emmy Award-winning Mandy Moore, establishing herself as a possible 'DWTS' contender, ABC11 reported. Notably, as per FantasyLand News, the show, filmed and broadcast on ABC, has won two Emmys, including one for Outstanding Daytime Special.
As Goodwin joined Ribeiro, the duo was asked if the 'Zootopia 2' star could be seen in a future 'Dancing With The Stars' season. Responding to the question, Riberio said, "I think you'd be great with Val (Chmerkovskiy). We'd put you on there. You would be jamming. He would get you in hold." "I'd be honored!" Goodwin said before quipping, "Could I do it in sneakers though, this time?" referencing her pair of chunky heels for 'Magical Christmas Day Parade'.
Although dancing in the parade didn't initially figure on Goodwin's to-do list, she did confess feeling an adrenaline rush, "That was a little bit of fun. I'm not gonna lie!" Perhaps that's the reason why she ended up having a "choreographer crush" on Moore. For the unversed, Goodwin voiced the character of Judy Hopps alongside Jason Bateman's Nick Wilde on 'Zootopia 2'. Since its theatrical release on November 28, the animated Disney movie has gathered over $556 million in gross box office collections and saw one of the highest openings for any film.
The 'Zootopia 2' storyline follows Nick and Judy's precarious partnership being put to the test when they are tasked with solving the case of a deadly snake that's trying to make inroads into the city. Idris Elba, Nate Torrence, and Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan comprise the rest of the cast. Meanwhile, coming back to the '40th Anniversary Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade', the episode will air on Christmas Day at 10 am ET on ABC.
