If the latest scoop is true, Chris Evans will return as Steve Rogers in 'Avengers: Secret Wars'. The actor had jaws dropping after he was the focus of the first mini-teaser for 'Avengers: Doomsday'. While much about his role in the film is kept under wraps, Evans' return in 'Secret Wars' comes as welcome news to Marvel faithful.

Earlier, scooper Chad of 'The Geeky Cast' responded to a tweet on X about Steve Rogers' run in 'Secret Wars'. Chad replied that Evans would "100%" return in the next Avengers film after 'Doomsday'. At the time of writing, confirmed cast members include Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange (Dr Strange), along with the Fantastic 4 featuring Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing). Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Victor Von Doom.

Also returning are Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America) and the Thunderbolts — Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent), David Harbour (Red Guardian), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost). Other names set to reprise their roles are Hayley Atwell (Captain Carter), Letitia Wright (Shuri/Black Panther), and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi).

The four 'Doomsday' trailers released so far focus on Rogers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the X-Men, featuring Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops (James Marsden), and the fourth one on the Wakandans and a member of the Fantastic Four.

In related news, Lewis Pullman, who plays Bob/Sentry and one of the characters expected to appear in both the 'Avengers' films, shed light on his MCU journey. Speaking with Men’s Journal, the 'Top Gun: Maverick' star was asked about his MCU tenure.  "Like any good tool and team member, finding your place in the team and finding how you best serve the company within the toolbox is kind of up to the team and up to the team member," Pullman said. "And so I have high hopes that they [Marvel] can figure that dynamic out. Fingers crossed!"

For now, all eyes are on 'Avengers: Doomsday' as the movie marks the first crossover bringing the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men in one film. Pullman was listed in the cast when Marvel revealed the 'Doomsday' roster. 'Avengers: Doomsday' releases December 18, 2026, and 'Secret Wars' is slated for a 2027 release.
