Woman beheads husband, chops off his penis and feeds it to the dogs after suffering years of domestic abuse
A Ukrainian woman who was allegedly the victim of years of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband beheaded him before chopping off his penis and feeding it to her dogs. The gruesome incident unfolded in the village of Obariv in the north of Ukraine and saw the 48-year-old woman, identified only as Maria, attack and kill her unsuspecting husband, 49-year-old Oleksandr, before carrying out one final act of revenge, according to the Daily Mail.
She reportedly attacked Oleksandr in their bedroom on August 23, shortly after he came home in the morning from his night shift and fell asleep. According to reports, she strangled him to death with her bare hands, before grabbing an axe and chopping his head off. Then, she grabbed a kitchen knife and chopped off his genitals, which she fed to her dogs.
Investigators said she also tried to cut his body into multiple pieces but failed.
After killing Oleksandr, she went out onto the street in her blood-soaked clothes, where she was spotted by neighbor Nadezhda Opanasiuk, who couldn't quite believe what she was seeing. "Her hands, feet, and clothes were in blood," Opanasiuk told local media outlets. "She said, 'I'm in trouble. I've killed my husband.' I did not believe her. I thought they had a quarrel and she might have hit him."
"I went to see if he needed medical help," she continued. "When I walked into the room, I saw his mutilated body. The bedsheets were soaked with blood. I asked her, 'Where's his head' and she replied, 'There, in the sack.'"
When questioned, Maria confessed to murdering her husband and told police that "she was suffering domestic violence for ages and murdered her husband to put an end to it" because "it was the only way out."
Neighbors backed those claims and confirmed they had seen Oleksandr "beating her up and chasing her with an axe a lot of times." Maria also divulged the gruesome details of how she killed her husband, beheaded him, and lopped off his penis before feeding it to dogs, with police spokesman Vadim Artiukhovich confirming that the 48-year-old had admitted to the crime.
"The suspect confessed in full at the scene," he said. "She was charged with murder and taken into custody."
Artiukhovich said Maria told them she was "constantly suffering physical and emotional abuse and did not see any other option to end her misery" but pointed out that she had never reported any of those incidents. Maria faces up to 15 years in prison if she is convicted, and her son, Viktor Fesianov, said that he could not forgive her for her actions and that he did not want to see her anymore.
