Columbus police revealed the body camera footage of the shooting of a 16-year-old girl by a police officer just hours after the incident took place on the Southeast Side. In the footage, Ma'Khia Bryant can be seen holding a knife and swinging it at a girl who is standing against the hood of a car. Moments after this, Bryant was shot dead.

While the shooting of the teenager has yet again led to nationwide outrage, the reason behind the quarrel between Bryant and the other two girls has finally come to light and it will surely leave you shocked. Bryant and two other young women were arguing and fighting over a messy house and unmade bed before the altercation ended with the fatal police shooting of the Black teenager, the woman who cared for Ma'Khia in the foster home said on Thursday, April 22.

Angela Moore stated that two of her former foster children had come to her Columbus, Ohio, home on Tuesday, April 20, to celebrate her birthday when the young women and Bryant bickered over housekeeping. "It was over keeping the house clean," Moore said. "The older one told them to clean up the house because 'Mom doesn't like the house dirty,'" Moore recalled. "So that's how it all started."

The 10-second clip begins with the officer getting out of his car at a house where police had been dispatched after someone called 911 saying they were being physically threatened. The officer takes a few steps toward a group of people in the driveway when Bryant starts swinging a knife wildly at another girl, who falls backward. The officer then shouts several times at Bryant.

Bryant then charges at another girl who is pinned against a car. From a few feet away, with people on either side of him, the officer fires four shots and Bryant slumps to the ground. A black-handled blade similar to a kitchen knife or steak knife lies on the sidewalk next to her. A man immediately yells at the officer, “You didn’t have to shoot her! She’s just a kid, man!” The officer responds, “She had a knife. She just went at her.”
