LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are back to entertain us as the dynamic trio of podcasters, solving crimes once again in Hulu's 'Only Murders in the Building'.

Our excitement is at its peak as Season 4 of the popular show approaches, promising to address the cliffhangers from the previous season.

[Spoiler alert] In the last season, Sazz Pataki (played by Jane Lynch), Charles's body double, was tragically shot and killed by an unknown assassin.

In Season 4, the trio will not only join forces to find her killer but will also investigate if she is the actual target or if the killer intends to kill Charles. This season will also introduce a major change: the setting is moving from New York City to Los Angeles.

Even though Season 4 will conclude Sazz Pataki's murder mystery by its final episode, we expect the show to have another season.

Why does 'Only Murders in the Building' need Season 5?

Though the move to Los Angeles promises a fresh vibe for the series, it may also leave some unresolved issues from the New York City setting.

We have to agree that in 'Only Murders in the Building', New York City and the building itself aren’t just settings—they’re integral characters. The building, in particular, often plays a pivotal role, giving the narrative a crucial push.

If the showrunners conclude the story in Los Angeles, fans might miss the iconic Arconia and the unique vibe of NYC. Additionally, there are several unresolved plot threads in New York City that the show needs to address.

The LA setting in Season 4 means many of our beloved side characters might not make an appearance this season. A final season back in New York would bring everyone together again, giving us the perfect farewell.

While LA offers a fun detour, 'Only Murders in the Building' belongs in New York. It's where the magic started, and it’s where it should end.

We’re excited to see what the LA setting brings and are ready to embrace this change. However, we’re also holding out hope for a return to New York for the grand finale. What do you think?
