Our favorite crime procedural drama, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ will not be airing today. Episode 4 of the seventh season of the show entitled “We All Fall…”, as per CBS, will air on Sunday, December 6, at 9 pm only on CBS.

So, why is the episode not airing today? It's Thanksgiving weekend, and as a rule, CBS shows don’t air during that time. It has been a practice followed for a while. And it makes sense. It is the time for turkey dinners, some good old-fashioned family time, and fun. So, television shows, no matter how loved, are a little low on everyone’s priority lists.

But even when the show returns next week, brace yourself for ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ to go on a winter break soon enough. Yes, it is a little annoying -- the wait to see our favorite characters like Pride, Dr. Wade, Sebastian, Hannah, Gregorio, and others. But It is always fun when the show returns in late-January/early-February post this break.

So, where did we leave things off last week? In the yet-another two-part episode, this time the federal law enforcement agency will be dealing with a case that is very different from their usual exploits. At the Mayor’s request, the team begins to look (unofficially) into the death of a cop who had several excessive force complaints against him.

But as the case went deeper, the team realized that there was a larger conspiracy at stake than one bad cop. It would seem that the now-dead policeman was supposed to hand over information to internal affairs -- information that would allegedly bring down several people.

This suggested that he was not the only cop to have a problematic track record. Rather, it was a system of cops where they had been protected by senior officials all throughout. What became more problematic was the fact that all their leads met dead ends. There was no one alive that could corroborate their suspicions. And even when they finally found one -- the man who had allegedly shot the cop -- they arrived at the scene too late. His former partner, as well as a senior cop (both of whom had similar complaints against them), had already shot and killed him.

They cited the man being armed (and threatening to attack them) as their reason. But Pride (Scott Bakula) had had enough by then. He told the cops that he was officially going to make it his business to bring them to justice. It did not matter if he had to tread on some police toes in the process. The episode ended with the Mayor giving Pride her full support.

So, it is obvious that the upcoming episode will only see this particular story conclude. Other than that, we will also see Gregorio and her new girlfriend more in the episodes to come. Not to mention (hopefully) more of Pride’s concerts in an effort to raise food and money for those who had lost their jobs to the coronavirus pandemic. Thanksgiving could have come a week later, could it not?

'NCIS: New Orleans' airs on Sundays at 9 pm only on CBS.
