Why is Seungwan, the second lead of 'Twenty Five Twenty One', trending since Sunday?
When a Kdrama drops, the first thing that excites fans is the main leads, especially if it is a romance. Fans immediately start wondering about the chemi, the first kiss, and a lot more. The second lead also plays a big part if they get stuck in a love triangle. While these are quite normal, the series ‘Twenty Five Twenty One’ has sparked a change. The show's second lead has been trending for a heartwarming role that has inspired many.
The 12th episode of ‘Twenty Five Twenty One’ aired on March 20, 2022. As usual, the series gave a look into the life of fencers. However, the episode had a surprise in store as second lead Seungwan’s bold move stunned the fans. In the series, we can see her friend Ji Woong being assaulted by the coach Mr. Seo for wearing a T-shirt similar to a prisoner's. The abuse makes Seungwan stand up to Mr. Seo, which in turn puts pressure on her. And then, she makes a decision that changes her entire life.

Seungwan's big decision
After standing up to Mr. Seo and calling in the cops, Seungwan ends up disappointed as the latter do not help her. After a round of bashing, she finally gets called to the counseling room where she is asked to write an apology and read it in the assembly or else be expelled. However, she firmly responds with a big no and returns home. At home, she tells her mother about the incident and opens up about her wish to drop out of school. Seungwan’s mother understands her daughter, goes to the school the next day and signs Seungwan’s departure letter with a threatening message to Mr. Seo. As Seungwan walks out happily, the next phase of her life begins.
Fans are inspired
After the episode aired, several fans of the show remarked on Twitter how they’ve been inspired by her. One fan wrote, “#TwentyFiveTwentyOneEp12 features that it's okay to give up. Giving up doesn't always imply that ur a nasty person, a loser, or whatever other negative label you've assigned to yourself. It can indicate that u r mature enough to recognize when to cut your losses & bold enough to—” while another wrote, "She’s dropping out school to defend the truth. Peak best girl ji seungwan🥺🤍 #TwentyFiveTwentyOneEp12.” Notably, a fan even mentioned Seungwan’s mother's character, “shoutout to seungwan's mom, she didnt get mad to seungwan for her decision to drop out from school but she keeps listening to her, support and trust her decision 🥺💛#TwentyFiveTwentyOneEp12.”
