MENLO, IOWA: Ron DeSantis reportedly received a harsh reception in Menlo, Iowa, on Friday, August 11. The Governor of Florida, who is running for the 2024 presidential election, visited the city with his wife, Casey DeSantis, only to be reportedly welcomed with the slogan, "Go back to Florida, pudding fingers."

The two protesters have been identified as Heather Ryan, 51, from Bondurant, Iowa, and Kara Ryan, 28, from Des Moines, Iowa, as per the Daily Mail. Both apparently wore T-shirts with the slogan, "B****s get stuff done," as a part of their dissent.

The duo is said to have also yelled, "Racist, Fascist, anti-gay. Ron DeSantis, go away," using a megaphone during the event.

Ron DeSantis slammed the protesters

Rather than exiting the event, the Governor of Florida addressed the crowd and went on to call out the women, saying, "They're not even from this county and they come and they want to scream over other people."

"That's not how we work. And we want to lift people up, we want to aim higher. We want a country that can be united again," added Ron, continuing, "People like that are holding this country back. People like this are why we lose as Americans because they have no respect for what these people who wear the uniform did."

"And they don't care about honoring the people who stood up and fought for us. So as the only veteran running for president, I can tell you I care. It means a lot to me," expressed the father of three.

Protester labels Ron DeSantis 'more dangerous than Trump'

Heather, however, thinks otherwise of Ron, as she said, "I'm protesting Satan. So that's what I'm protesting. He is Satan," to the Daily Mail.

"I think he's more dangerous than Trump because he's smarter than Trump. You know, Trump has a big personality, so he's actually probably I'm sure gonna get the nomination. DeSantis doesn't have a personality – but he's still dangerous," added the dissenter.

Why is Ron DeSantis called 'pudding fingers'?

The "pudding fingers" remark reportedly stems from an alleged incident from March 2019, when Ron was seen eating a chocolate pudding dessert with his fingers.

It resurfaced when the Make America Great Again Inc PAC used the same apparent incident to take a dig at the rival of Donald Trump. In its advertisement video, PAC reportedly said, "Tell Ron DeSantis to keep his pudding fingers off his money. And oh, somebody get this man a spoon."

Ron DeSantis says he doesn't 'remember ever doing that'

The Governor of Florida has denied any such eating incident.

He apparently told Piers Morgan, "I don’t remember ever doing that. Maybe when I was a kid, but it’s interesting there’s a lot of people who when they go at you, sometimes they have really good ammunition like, 'You’re a crook, you did this, you did that'," as per The Independent.

Ron added, "For me, they’re talking about pudding, and I’m like, 'Is that really the best you’ve got? OK, bring it on!'"
