NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former cast member of 'The Real Housewives of New York City,' Leah McSweeney, has expressed her intention to take legal action against Bravo. Some allegations suggest that McSweeney's lawsuit will reveal "sordid details" that Bravo cannot hide.

McSweeney and her attorney submitted a discrimination complaint against the streaming platform on March 10, as per Page Six.

The reports suggest that Bravo may have violated the Americans with Disabilities Act while filming 'The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' Season 3.

As per the reports, one of the former 'RHONY' housewives commented on the fashion designer's post, saying, "Miss you on RHONY. Read Vanity Fair. I wish you $$$ in lawsuit. You deserved better by antagonist @bravotv producers!"

To this, McSweeney replied, "Thank u appreciate you. I’m very much looking forward to depositions."

According to the reports, McSweeney "doesn't want money through a settlement. She wants a trial. She wants Bravo in front of a jury."

McSweeney allegedly had to miss her grandmother's funeral because of the conflict that occurred on 'RHUGT' trip.

The production claimed to offer McSweeney "whatever day or time she needed to be with her grandmother," as per Vanity Fair. However, 'Married to the Mob' alum claimed that the same thing did not happen.

She said, "It hurt so bad that I was not able to grieve. That I had people not showing me any kind of compassion or humanity regarding it." The death of her grandmother allegedly led her to severe depression and McSweeney even spent 8 days in a psychiatric facility.

Looking forward to suing Bravo, McSweeney claims not to be settling down with any offered amount.

Leah McSweeney was encouraged to drink on 'RHONY'

McSweeney had been sober for 9 years before a relapse in 2000. However, it seems her fellow cast members and even producers liked her better when she was drinking.

A co-star Marysol Patton texted McSweeney, "I wish you were still drinking. That's all."

McSweeney was told by 'RHONY' producers that the viewers do not like her when she is sober. This reportedly deeply affected the reality TV star.

Why did Leah McSweeney leave 'RHONY'?

After leaving 'RHONY,' McSweeney initially declined further involvement in the franchise but later agreed to participate in 'RHUGT' for a reported sum of $250,000.

In 2022, McSweeney confirmed her departure from the reality TV series and explained her reasons for doing so through her social media.

On Instagram, she shared a repost of her TikTok video, where she listed "Five things that I would never do" as a former 'Real Housewife of New York.'

She said she will never "get fully nude," "throw food in someone’s face," "get blackout drunk on national television,” "steal the spotlight at another woman’s birthday party," and "leave the vibrator in the chicken."
