What to expect when the show returns?
ABC's hit ensemble show 'A Million Little Things' Season 3 will return after its winter break early next year in 2021. The show will pick up from where it left off at the winter break. Going by the looks of the promo, it can be assumed that there will be a small time jump as Dakota (Anna Akana), Eddie Saville's (David Giuntoli) old music associate, returns. When we last saw her on the show in Season 2, she was in an argument with Eddie over drugs and sobriety. Upon her return, she is seen asking Eddie if he is ready to throw away the 10 years of sobriety he has earned. It can thus be speculated that Eddie is either considering taking the prescribed medicines or has already started taking them. Just aspirin is not going to help him.
Elsewhere on the show, it looks like the production for Rome's (Romany Malco) movie might be directly affected by the lockdown. The show has introduced the Covid plotline early in Season 3 when Katherine (Grace Park) was taking Eddie home from the hospital, but nothing more was shown — no masks, nothing. Now with the star of his movie Shanice (Nikiva Dionne) promising Rome that they won't go down without a fight, it can be assumed that the show will dive deeper into the pandemic.
Another important teaser to look out for is a reunion between Gary Mendez (James Roday Rodriguez) and Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller). The promo aired after last week's episode shows that Maggie might return to Boston to check for her cancer. She is shown asking her doctor about the severity of relapse — if she needs surgery or chemo. Will this bring Gary and Maggie closer together? Are creator DJ Nash and the writer room of 'A Million Little Things' using this plot point to initiate a reunion between Gary and Maggie? If yes, maybe they are going to piss off a lot of viewers who were quite happy to see Gary's relationship with new love interest Darcy Cooper (Floriana Lima).
