Why did Janelle Brown leave Kody Brown? 'Sister Wives' star reflects on split during TLC special
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: TLC has recently dropped 'Sister Wives: Talk Back' special episode where Janelle Brown answered some of the fans' long-awaiting questions. During the TLC special, Janelle revealed when she knew she couldn't stay married to Kody Brown.
While rewatching the 'Sister Wives' season 18 premiere, Janelle said, "Honestly, for me, it really came down to the kids."
However, after a fan asked Janelle whether she wished she'd 'left sooner', she said she was happy with her timeline.
Kody and Janelle were spiritually married for nearly 30 years before Janelle announced their split in December 2022. Janelle reflected on her split, "I would've stayed if Kody had stayed the father that he was for my kids for many, many years."
She elaborated, "But when the relationship with the kids broke down, that cost was no longer a factor." Kody and Janelle share six kids, Logan, 29, Maddie, 27, Hunter, 26, Garrison, 25, Gabriel, 21, and Savanah, 18.
Janelle Brown claims Kody Brown still wants an 'apology' from his sons
In the TLC special, Janelle Brown reacted to various moments from 'Sister Wives' Season 18. In the episode, Janelle revealed that Kody Brown still wanted an 'apology' from their boys, Gabe and Garrison.
The former couple had an explosive feud over the patriarch's treatment of their sons, Gabe and Garrison after the kids allegedly disregarded Kody's strict Covid-19 rules in 2020.
After the feud, Janelle and her children didn't spend the 2021 holiday season with Kody and the rest of the family. However, Kody and Janelle's children have previously expressed that their relationship with their father is strained.
Kody Brown accuses Janelle Brown of 'separating' his sons
Kody Brown recently accused his ex-wife Janelle Brown of 'separating' his children. He claimed, "Janelle wants to be separate. She’s trying to put it all on me. Janelle doesn’t want to have Christmas with Meri [Brown] and with Robyn [Brown] and with me."
He further alleged, "She’d rather have a Christmas with Christine." Kody added, "So she’s making this excuse about the boys."
He claimed that Janelle was 'telling the boys' that he wanted to do Christmas separately to 'get them on her side.' Kody bashed Janelle's behaviour in the 'Talk Back' episode and accused her of trying to 'make me look bad' and 'specifically trying to destroy my character with my family.'
